Ughhh just bought this from Direct2Drive and im getting the Configuration error telling me to try n reinstall well, im going through EA DL manager to see if it will work.

It won't.  Those of us who went through EA are getting "Release Date Check Failure" messages, and can't access the game at all.

I have a constant crashing issue

After getting through the intro stuff, and the introduction of the Normandy 2, right when it starts loading you to the galaxy map, game crashes every time.

My "region" is Florida, I bought the game on D2D and I am also getting the release date check failure. My "Region" is in the Unites States, where the game was supposed to be released YESTERDAY. I understand your probably trying to fix the problem, at least aknowledge it on these forums to placate the masses (me). EA already has a very very very bad reputation the best you can do to improve it is to communicate with your customers.

Is there any word on redeeming collector's edition weapons and armor with key codes that claim to already have been redeemed?
I spoke to an EA rep via live chat yesterday who got me connected to cerberus, but he maintained that the only promo items associated with the collector's edition were the pre-order bonus inferno armor/terminus armor and the cerberus network card.

Any updates on the BioWare/EA confusion with Cerberus Network? The game still says me code has already been used even though I registered it on the BioWare site. This is a very big problem and I can see no way of fixing it without a fix from the companies involved.

Haven't had any luck with this yet.  Last night when I tried again, the game would hang indefinitely when I tried to enter the activation key.  This morning, it's back to informing me that 'The product key I've entered cannot be used to activate the game'.


I've since tried to register the game through this website, which accepted my activation key.  However, the game continues to ask me to log into my account before starting and does not acknowledge the game being registered.  Attempting to register through the in-game prompts nets me the same response.

Assistance or acknowledgement that the issue is being looked into would be appreciated.

I had a EA live support give me a new key for the collectors edition, according to her the Cerberus should have been unlocked through that. Will see when I get home from work. As an aside, curious where the live support is located, I don't believe english was her primary language.

I preordered the game off direct2drive, same as my roomie. his copy works fine but mine gets the release date check failed error. we both live in edmonton alberta canada i think you folks at bioware know where that is :D. Can someone help me please this is brutal I'm so excited to finally play on my days off from work :S. Thanks. Oh yeah, please don't link to EA support. They are soooooo brutal and useless. Lol.

However, it looks like I did this "out of order," because when I try to download the DLC from the Bioware Social Network, it won't let me redeem my code because it has "already been redeemed." Well, obviously -- by *me.*



This is...silly and frustrating, and no one at EA Support will get back to me. Is there a fix coming? Or do I need a new download code?

When we go to login to our EA account in Mass Effect 2, does our EA account have to be linked to our Mass Effect 2 ID? I'm confused about this because you can set your EA account persona to different things in your EA account options...

log into social using the exact same account you are using to log in in game. the order doesnt matter. just as long as you log into the social site using the same info, and then go profile/your registered game promotions. you should be able to download your cerberus content there

Thanks for your response. It turns out that I'm an idiot, and somehow have two separate EA Accounts. Logging in to the proper account reveals the DLC. Thanks again.

I'm having horrifying trouble with the Cerberus Network and the connection interruption/time-out error. I have downloaded my DLC from here, and activated CN from here, but I can't get CN in-game to come up so that I can actually log in, have there been any fixes to that yet?

Have there been any fixes to the connection timeout/interruption error for Cerberus Network? That is the only thing holding me back from accessing and using my DLC because I can't get to the log-in screen to activate/authenticate it.

I just installed the (PC retail DVD) Collector's edition last night. After installing I did not run the game, first I wanted to register the game, it took a while to find exactly where to register. I already had an old EA account so I just needed to login here in the forum, the register games feature is located on the "My Games" menu item on the left side of this forum. So that part was solved and my game was properly registered with the Social Network.

Next I ran the game, it asked for Cerberus Network login, I did that and it was accepted. Now I could see on the left side of the display that the computer said "New content available" along with four news entries on the right side. The news entries seemed to be about the DLC. I clicked on the scrolling "New content available" and was taked to my internet browser (IE8) to a page where the DLC was listed for download. Three items were listed: Collector's Armor/Weap, Normandy Crash and Zaeed. So I downloaded them, I've installed them today.

In the Collector's edition box was another game-key that seemed to be for the DLC - but I already had the DLC (even though I hadn't installed it yet). So I think that registering the game (in this forum) recognized from the (manual's) game-key that I had installed the Collector's edition and had already enabled the proper DLC and was just waiting for me to click on that "New content" item in-game. Attempting to enter that third game-key at masseffect.com (or "redeem promo code") got me nothing but the "key already used" message which is as it should be since I already had the DLC.

If there is a problem with getting the DLC it may be that you must just click that "New content available" item in-game to get taken to the download page.

can you provide exact repro steps for what you are seeing? is the connecting interrupting from xbox live or from cerberus? also, a what point is it interrupting

gonna give u the steps and what its giving me

Started game---
clicked on comp to right that says connect to Cerberus network. Entered
my info. Connect to ea online ...then it asks me for my guardians
password.. seeing as how i dont have a guardian i created a fake email
entered it .. then when i click accept i get .. Connection to Mass
Effect 2 server was interrupted or has timed out. Please try again
later. i havnt even gotten to the point of putting the code in . please
anyone who knows how to resolve this please help
