my steps are
start game,
message saying DLC not able to be authenticated, please log in to Cerberus Network and try again.
then I click connect to cerberus
it sits on the please wait screen for about five minutes
then I get the "your connection to the EA server has either been interrupted or timed-out, please try again later"

this is for the PC Collector's Edition

ahh i can get to the login but after that it does the connection timeout thing

Mine still just gives me the option to either redeem a code (mine is "already in use") or purchase a new one. 

try opening up the game, going intot he options, turning off auto-login. then restart the game, and the login prompt should come up at you. enter your bw social credentials in there

i tried that and still didnt get a logon prompt. then when i access the cerberus terminal it takes me straight to the redeem code screen.

ok so my game is registered here online and when i trry and log in in-game it says that "we could not activate mass effect two on this computer using the ea account provided. why not?

Reading these forms i can see almsot ever pc user who brought the game by download is havving this issue EA should just remove the whole process of needing the account to log into the game in the short term until they fix this.

I'm sure BioWare's working on something to fix it, we just have to have patience and give them a bit of time, any time there's been a big launch of a very big title of any game in my lifetime...there's always been a few major issues and kinks that needed to be worked out in the first few weeks to month of the release. They did a great job with the game, I'm able to play it, just wish I could get into Cerberus Network to authenticate my DLC so I can use it. I'm going to be patient and see what happens, but in the near future I'll be calling my ISP to be seeing if it's something they're blocking or not, because I've now got a similar issue as of about four-five days ago with Dragon Age: Origins not being able to connect, though I clearly have a connection and it was working just fine a matter of a day or two beforehand.

Well. I now seem to be able to connect, and all of the DLC's seem to be available for DL (for Pete's sake knock on wood!).



I went to options, turned off auto log-in, exited the game, re-started the game, logged into my EA account (email and password) I had a scary moment when it asked for my cerberus code, but it worked!

So would there be any reason my brand new, previously unopened collector's edition copy would come only with keys already in use?



Completely out of the box, it just tells me that all the keys are already registered. They sure weren't registered to me. They've never been accepted for them to be registered to me and nothing is showing up as registered for ME2 except for the Blood Dragon armor.

I'd done that several times myself and it hasn't worked yet, I'm still having trouble with even getting the Cerberus Network login screen to even come up, still consistently getting the timeout/interruption error.



I just turn the game on, it says it can't authenticate my DLC because I have to log in to my EA account through the Cerberus Network. Then I go to the connect to Cerberus Network button on the closed laptop, because I haven't been able to get it to open, I click on the connect button on the screen letting me know that I'll have to log in to my EA account. It goes to a Please Wait splash screen for about 4-5 minutes and then gives me the timeout/interruption error message.

I, like everyone else, am unable to log into Cerberus from within the game.

I can log into the EA site and here using the credential I provide in the game.

However, when i try to log into the Cerberus network in game I game the same "Please Wait" for 15 (ish) minutes and then the timeout/interuption error message.

 Possible bug...When using "-nomovies" launch option in steam it allows to skip the intro movies/loading screens but causes lockups when you dock in places like the citadel that call for cinematics!

log into social using the exact same account you are using to log in in game. the order doesnt matter. just as long as you log into the social site using the same info, and then go profile/your registered game promotions. you should be able to download your cerberus content there

This solutuion is fine for now. But eventually new DLC would become available for purchase and if guys like WinterDog and myself can't activate the Cerberus network (in-game is fine) from within the BW scoial site to purchase the DLC then it becomes an issue not only for us the consumers but EA and Bioware as well. I know you guys have bigger problems to deal with right now, but I'm just letting you know about this issue before it hurts DLC sales and makes me and others into sad pandas in the near future.

Use cracked files at your own risk... try VPN before that.

Yes, do use at your own risk... but in my experience there is no risk. I scanned the file with Norton and Trend Micro... appears to be clean. If you have any decent firewall / port monitor software, you'll probably be fine.

see if the hackers have shown EA how to fix the problem in the short term why can't EA just do this

A lot of people, including myself, are experiencing some sort of interaction bug that won't let us see the blue square for items we need to... well... interact with unless we:

1- save the game, quit it, reload, and hammer down on the spacebar
2- use the [esc] [esc] trick
3- play in the lowest resolution in windowed mode

But still, even these don't always work. I haven't even made it pass the first door after shooting down my first enemy! I'm still trapped, and there are many others experiencing this too. Control and movement is fine, it's the whole interaction thing and that blue square that doesn't show up!

I'd also like to add that this is also hindering the hack mini game for some and I don't know what that is yet! But I'm here for them, anyway.

Wow, alot of people are having problems.

I am happy to report that I have not had any problems. I purchased the game, ran (literally) home and started and installed the game right away! It was 10:30 in the morning (EST)

Cerberus connects, all my redeem codes worked, and I could easily download the DLC's.

I can also vouche for two of my other friends and my brother who had it just as smooth as I did.

I secretly have a golden horseshoe up my anus.
