This appears to be a wide spread problem most likely EA has been flooded with emails about the issue. I have the PC version and on the 30th and 31st played it just fine with my registered Cerberus Network card. Jumped on tonight and Its now asking for my Cerberus code. While this is agitating I will wait to see what happens.

Yup I used the code to access the DLC. Each I start the game I'm told there is new downloadable content but when I try to access the DLC I'm met with the screen requesting my Cerberus code, a code I have already used and can only use once.

It's been 5 days, and I still can't connect to the Cerberus network in-game. It just times out. Observing my network activity, MassEffect2.exe tries to connect to gosredirector.ea.com (159.153.235), but times out. I experimented connecting to https://profile.ea.c...angepassword.do to change my password, and even that fails. I Have tried it with windows firewall disabled, router firewall disabled, as well as the antivirus software disabled without any difference.

FYI - I'm in New Zealand - so maybe EA is blocking all connections that are not from within the USA in order to keep their sever load stable.

EA really dropped the ball with this one. All the premium downloaded content that I got with the collectors (physical boxed) edition is useless because it can't authenticate in-game. Everything redeemed fine on social.bioware.com, and the game registered fine as well.

Same here. I own the physical copy of Mass Effect 2 standard edition. I could log in and download the DLC just fine. Installed it and whenever I start the game now it tells me that there are new items/missions installed but that they need to be authorized first. When I try to log into Cerberus network within the game I immediately get a "Could not connect / time out" message.

I can see that the program is causing net traffic but I get the "time out" message almost immediately after I hit the connect button.

I'm still not able to get my email and password to gel even though I kept using the 'send my password' option. I repeated the steps so many times I'm giving up on it. I'm going to bypass this nonsense for ME3. No special DLCs for me. It's a real pain in the butt to pay for something and not getting it.

I still haven't had a response to my problem. I'll reiterate:

I bought the digital deluxe version from steam. I can access the downloads that came with that in my bioware account. I CANNOT access Cerberus in a web browser despite the fact that I have installed the downloaded content onto my PC.

When I enter my password for Cerberus I get the message: "Unable to redeem code. That code has already been used, and cannot be redeemed again." It was ME who redeemed the code (inside the game). I STILL can't access the Cerberus network online. I would like to access the Cerberus network, as I PAID for the privilige already.

I also note that despite registering my game here on the forum, I do not have Mass Effect 2 listed on the "My Games" tab on the left of the forum screen. This is fairly serious here, I'd like to access Cerberus online. When the game opens the browser window it'd be nice to be able to get the access I paid for.

Please help me resolve this issue.

Only thing I can help with is, is that I know my Cerberus wasn't working, so I disabled it from auto login through options turned off anti-virus software, then restarted game and logged in and it worked.

I have Cerberus working inside my Mass Effect 2 Game. I have access to my registered game promotions having purchased the digital deluxe edition through steam. But when I try to access Cerberus through the website I am told that I need to register. When I entered the key for my account I was told that "Unable to redeem code. That code has already been used, and cannot be redeemed again." Naturally, I am the one who redeemed the code, yet now I can't access Cerberus, but can still access the original downloads.

I would really like to be able to access Cerberus, particularly to be able to download the Hammerhead (if and when it becomes available). Do please respond with a working solution to this problem.

Cheers

I am having the exact same problem with the "standard"retail version I bought. Ingame everything works fine but I can't buy or even view any aditional DLC that's out there.

Nope, doesn't work. Still allows me to download the extras from my digital deluxe edition, but claims that I don't have Cerberus access (whioh I clearly must have had at SOME stage to get the downloads... but go figure).

Any answer that I can use will be greatly appreciated. Thanks for trying Eddy.

Okay so I bought the collectors edition yesterday and have been unable to even install the game. whenever I type in the activation code, it just says the code is invalid. wtf? I PAID for this game. Why the hell doesn't the code work? I've typed and retyped and carefully checked to see that I put it in right, and it still doesn't work. Does anybody know what's going on? Am I maybe looking at the wrong code or something? It's on the back of the "Mass Effect 2 Collectors' Edition" booklet. Please help :( just want to play the game... Though it sounds like that might be a problem even after it gets installed, what with all the cerberus crap going on.

Looks like EA finally got back and fixed exactly what I needed -although I haven't checked yet as I need to go home and I guess start a new game to see. Took a ridiculously long amount of time, but at least they were helpful and good about solving it when they actually got to it. I'd just suggest EA gets more decent customer service people to help with the quantity of problems prior to big launches, especially those trying new things, and all of us would be a lot happier with the process. Problematic, but at least the existence of support eventually does mitigate any anger, etc. I just pray that solved everything and I don't have any more issues. I don't so much mind problems nor that they want an added layer of control, but consumers need some measure of being able to handle any potential issues in a more timely manner is all and if you're going to want the control you have to handle that responsibility for it. 'Slow and good' is better than 'fast and poor' in terms of the helpfulness of such customer service though, so I'll take what I got and be happy about it for now :P

For those curious about how to send in a request for help, it's all through the EA site that is linked in the OP, go under My Questions, go to the appropriate problem from their menu, type out the issue and proceed to wait.

Finally found the solution to the Cerberus network time outs. I've
created a new thread on the forums here:

I pre-ordered Mass Effect through Amazon and received the game on the 26th. I got the Cerberus Network card with the game. I put in the code in the BioWare Social Network site. I then downloaded the DLC and installed it on my computer. I then ran the game, entered the same email and password I used to enter the codes on the BioWare Social. I then entered the code. I got an error message that said "this code is already used".

I ended up loosing the piece of paper I had my password on, so I had to create a new password with the same email. A day or so later I found the paper with my password and user name but it would not be accepted.

My question is: why have the option to change your password, if it is not going to be recognized globally, because without it changing globally the DLC is obsolete? Also is there any solution to this problem?

So what's the status of this nagging sh!t to always connect to the internet to play the DLCs? That's not supposed to happen everytime you login and authorize the DLCs to be able to play the duly paid for DLCs that came with my copy. Give us the solution already!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

K, this is just great!  I downloaded the D2D ME2 normal version.  I have both bioware, EA accounts, etc.  The system would not let me log on to EA when the game booted up, so I entered the code.  It relayed activation complete, but then it popped up and said failed.  So after waiting on EA for the past week (STILL NOTHING FROM THEM OR BIOWARE), I downloaded the game to my laptop using the EA downloader. It is now in FRENCH.  Interesting, but come on, really.  Any help on this issue?

For all you guys who had trouble because the code kept saying that it couldn't be recognized, check these things:

1) All caps, dashes included.

2) B's and 8's look similar...try switching them around.

3) G's and 6's look similar, switch those around too.

I had trouble entering the code for a while before I realized that I was entering a 6 where a G was supposed to be...

You can redownload and reinstall your DLC as many times as youd like via 'your registered game promotions' through the bioware social site.

The way the DLC authentication is done:

After you have installed the content, you only need to go on and authenticate once. After that you can disconnect and play the dlc without being asked.

That may be how it's SUPPOSED to work, but the most cursory examination of this thread will tell you that it is not.

Just wanted to say that I'm having the same problem, only I have the retail Collectors Edition. Ingame everything is working perfectly, but I can't look at any of the other DLC.

It is the same for me. I can use Cerberus ingame (Standard Version) but not here on the Social Network.. Hope they fix it somehow.

My Cerberus Code Laptop thing is activated in-game but i didn't notice much of a difference at the moment (i'm already near the half-way mark, and yes i beat the game before). I went to try to redeem my code online, because i didn't know you could do that, but it says my code is already used.

Is there an easier way to tell if the code worked and did unlock new features ?

Um... I don't have any issues with the ME2 DLC's (on the contrary Normandy crash site and Zaeed DLC's work great) but now when I try to go back and play ME1 my DLC's for it don't show up. Yet they are right there in the DLC folder. Ideas?Image IPB
