still getting the cerberus network activation problems.... "code not valid" yadda yadda yadda.
well... at least bioware was nice enough to not let the code expire for another 2 years. i would sincerely hope bioware fixes the activation issues in the 2 years my code has left -_-

i guess if it helps, i've associated the CD key of the copy of the game under my EA/bioware account.  i've also already attempted redeeming the cerberus network code in-game and through the Redeem site... both of which have failed.

[EDIT]

wow totally my mistake.  i mistook the "G" in my Cerb. code for the number "6".  free DLC content seems to be showing up fine on the BioWare social network site.  will check back later today to see if it shows up fine in-game.

To anyone who may know how to resolve this issue,

(Below is an email I sent to EA about my issue.  I'm hoping for some sort of assistance.)

 Dear EA Support Tech,

Two weeks ago I bought Mass Effect 2.  I installed the game and plugged in what I thought was my account information for EA.  Then I put in the Redemption Code for the Cerberus Network and it seemed to work alright, but I was unsure of how to access the FREE DLC.  (I know that my specs for this game are good because I played the game the whole way through and had no issues).  Two days ago I went online and bought the Overlord Package and the Kasumi - Stolen Memory package.  I downloaded them successfully, but they wouldn't run correctly when I started the game.  In game it said that the DLC list could not be found.  I went onto EA forums and Bioware forums and thought I could remedy this issue by going into Extras > Options > and disabled both the feedback and auto-login.  Upon restarting the game I found that I was disconnected to the Cerberus Network so I tried to put in my account info and redemption code, but it said it was already in use.  I am now stuck and unsure of what to do.

I am hoping someone will be able to straighten this out for me so I can:
1) Be connected to the Cerberus Network
2) Play the free DLC
3) Play the two DLC's that I bought
4) And better understand if I have two separate accounts that need to be linked or not.

If anyone else on here as any constructive input for me that would be most appreciated.  I'm past the point of being frustrated that I spent money for packages I cannot currently play and am at the point where I just want to resolve this issue.

Thanks again for any feedback,

~Stark

Okay so first I solved my issue, but secondly I need to say HOLY $%@# that conversation to fix my issue took 2 hours and once they understood what I was talking about it took about 2 minutes to solve.

I had two separate accounts for EA apparently that I had set up while using Battlefield 2142.   I bought Mass Effect 2 and used the Cerberus Code with my second account.  I then forgot about my second account and bought the  Overlord and Stolen Memory DLC with my first account.  I then had to contact an EA Rep and what they did for me was give all of the free DLC to my first account and change the cerberus code so that it would work with my first account.

I hope this sheds some light for anyone who is in a similar circumstance.

How can I switch the email address that ME2 tries to connect to cerebus with?  I put in the wrong one that isn't linked to my social.bioware account, after I had paid for all the DLC!  So now when I run ME2, it says non of my content is available.  When I try and activate my cerebus network ingame, it says the code has already been used, I just got the game off steam last week or so andhaven't even gotten it to work yet!

I can't connect to the ME2 server. Can't even get my password sent to myself because I might not be putting it in correctly. Fix it, thanks.

You are having a SITE problem, not a GAME problem, so you asked (demanded, silly deluded person) something in the wrong forum.

Wow, wish I had read these threads before I bought a DLC!

Same issues for me, game says my DLCs are not recognised as being used with an autorisied user.

Oddly also if I lclick the 'My Games' link here on the Social Network only Dragon Age:Origins shows, yet if click on the Register Games option off of that link Mass Effect 2 IS registered to my account, because in the box for the PC version I see the link 'Click here to remove registration'!

Confused, you betcha.

I too am having issues. I just purchased ME2 on steam last weekend, with the cerebus key included, and bought and downloaded Alt. Appearance Pack, Overlord, Katsumi, and Zaeed DLC.

Played 25 hours into it, but when i started it this afternoon i got this message:

Unable to authorize the listed DLC. Please log into the Cerebus Network with the account used to purchase the DLC.

Then it lists all the DLC i have downloaded.

I did try the disable autoconnect. I loaded the game, then logged into the cerebus network. Same issue.

Now i am wondering if i spent all this time and money for a game i can not play. My saved games are still there, but will NOT load due to the DLC.

Any help?

Same here (again - posted it already three times) ...

Made the mistake to buy all payed DLCs and now I'm stuck with "cannot authorize", "not able to connect or interruped" messages.

Not found a solution for one hour because:

- Dozen of other players experience the same thing and are stuck/haven't found a solution.

- I was unable to find a proper (free) support like phone, email or whatever (I'm not even sure where to look).

- Only solutions/fixes available are "3rd-party" cracks.

- No helpful moderation of this forum, just PR messages.

This is really a tiny little bit frustrating, especially because there are maybe to companies (Bioware,EA) and nobody really feels the need to do proper support.

Official tech support, including the chat line option, is on the EA support site, just like it says at the top.

This place is for Users to advise other users with advice, suggestions, and what not, but in the summer, the numbers of active readers plummets, and there are far fewer people on hand with experience.  There had been ordinary moderation in the past, and there has never been any official announcement why it was withdrawn.

Issues with DLC authorizations have come up constantly since the very beginning, and the very same answers continue to work, if you can find them.  The in-house search here is a very bad joke, it is so limited, but it does in fact return lists of message threads with the target search criteria "authorization", for instance.  You can then limit the search to only this particular forum, and search again, and start selecting threads to read.

By adding a site directive and the URL for this forum, you can use Google with far more than a one-word search.

P. S. If you have a complaint about the absence of moderator assistance, this isn't the place for that.  There is a forum for help with  the web site, and failure to provide normal moderation is a site problem, not a game problem.

No offense meant Alpha - we Austrians are known to be a little rude (think Arni *g*).

I did my research well and found the HOSTS and tcp interface workarounds, but none are working.
All other basic stuff doesn't fit my case (I have not authorization problems, I cannot get ME2 to send me my account mail, while everything is working fine in the browser).

I have to admit, I have a Win7/64 developer machine sitting infront of me (System core development is my job), so a lot stuff is not found on regular machines, however, I didn't change my config between the try before installing the addons and after - so it is related with the DLCs or their installers.

Check Firewall settings, killed my two secure VPNs, even killed the firewall cold - no effect. Virus scanner ? Nope - no need and the official virus detection tool of my bank doesn't work well with rootkit-like DRM, so no issues there as well.

It's also a ME2 related issue, because all other stuff (WoW, Aeon, STO, STA2-FO, C&C3, ...) is working fine, including non-supported EA titles, as you can see.

No router issue, because direct connect (I shortcuted my Ubuntu-Gateway).

Anything I have found on the internet was an old blackhat paper to crack ME2 or write an authenification proxy (Full interface Manual, C++ Listings plus hotplug header files, specs, cool stuff, way beyond script kiddy level, Sweden guys rock as usual) and the usual rant about DRM and that it doesn't work since the 560er DLC. No really useful data for my case.

There were advices (success onces) about completely uninstalling the game manually incl. purging the DRM stuff and then reinstall, but seriously, I'm off duty ATM.

But thanks for your response, I thought this is an official technical support forum, not just an unmoderated player chat room. My mistake, I remember back then when I wrote games for a small game company, the support situation was similar bad (I posted sometimes in my lunch break *g*).

So long, I try the cheap $2.50/min line and send them a bill (Just as a statement ^^).

PS:
I think it's a little bit lame to establish a tech support forum for a game without any real support (moderation or at least useful sticky threads). I know EA is doing the DRM crap and it's their servers failing all the time, but in the end customers just remember two no gos: Bioware / EA. Keeping that in mind, and it's a major game problem.

EDIT:
I uninstalled the game per uninstaller and per manual uninstall tutorial on the EA support site - no effect.
That's it, screw this, I'm killing Allies now in Warsong Gulch. x04

Please understand this, as i spent a couple of hours trying to get tech support from EA, but since i purchased the game thru Steam, i was getting a constant loop of "Go see them, no go see THEM" being run-around.

I did solve the problem, unfortunately the solution took over 6 hours to implement.
Very sour experience overall, as i had to uninstall(but keep the save games), reinstall, redownload the DLC, then play. Everything was back to normal, but that was a major pain.

I will be very wary of buying future game thru either EA or Steam due to this experience.Image IPB

I too had very similar issues! I got the issues when i signed on after i had my computer OFF for some time.
EA and Steam were extremely vauge, but it was the Bioware Social network DLC page that saved me.

Sorry your experience sounded worse than mine.  And good job on the WSG Alliance killing. Image IPB

Tripple Win 3:0, 3:1, 3:0 - Puny Allies are no match for my PvP-Disci-Priest ... at least they work well for me ;-).

Thanks for the advice, I have still some original DLCs - maybe they are bugged.

Download them all again and hope a uninstall/install/restart will fix this.

BTW no STEAM here, I usually avoid download, but it worked fine with the free DLC so I assumed all those posts here about authorization are just user problems. Stupid me Krogan - not can killing things, not understanding things, blaming puny innocent users.

I am having the following error message coming up:

Error

Cerberus Network activation requires Internet connection. please ensure you are connected to the internet and try again.

What i find bizzare is this didn't always happen. Infact its only a recent development and i can't for the life of me understand what has changed to start causing this.

Im not running ME2 through steam however i am having the same issue with Games for Windows Live which needs to be logged into to play DoWII. GFWL is telling me my Internet IP Address is not signed in. This is also a recently developed problem.

I am running xp 32bit and yes my internet connection is fine.

OK. Through trying to sort out the problem to live i have also managed to sort out the problem for the Cerberus Network. After everything i tried, its so stupid how simple the solution was!

Having unistalled and reinstalled GFWL, i was still having the same problem where it would not allow me to sign in. So following some advice on the GFWL forums i did the following:

Open up Windows Internet Explorer
Click on the Tools tab to brind down the drop down menu
Click Internet Options
Select the Connections tab
LAN settings
Uncheck Automatically Detect Settings

Done. That seems to have also sorted out the Cerberus Network so i no longer have the problem where it believes i am not connected to the internet. F***ing stupid. I don't understand it, but it seems to have worked. I'm not sure if it will help anyone else out but im posting my solution here just incase.
