In the comics, Sten tells Alistair something that has some very confusing implications about the Qunari.

Taken from the wiki, "The Qunari have their own version of Calenhad's rise to power. Like the Theodosian histories claim, he was born in destitution, being a common dog handler, with no real strength. But he was always ambitious and struggled to gain knowledge that might bring him power. He made many bargains to trade stories upon stories, until at last he gained from a certain scribe a powerful secret that he would use as payment to a certain witch, that would start him on the path to power. The witch led him to a cave where a Great dragon lay dying. Calenhad used his dagger on the ancient creature and drank some of its blood, gaining new strength that made him undefeatable in battle. A measure of this strength was passed on within the Theirin family from that time onward, and it allowed Calenhad to conquer all of Ferelden and establish his bloodline as royalty, which would endure into the ages."

Calenhad was crowned as king at the Landsmeet in 5:42 Exalted.

The Qunari invaded Thedas in 6:30 Steel.

How on earth do the Qunari know more about Calenhad than the Fereldans do?

Is this because of their connection to dragons?

And according to Sten, the Qun has passages on the Old Gods, describing them as 'Like unto dragons as kings were unto the first men'.

The Old Gods were buried and worship of them all but stamped out a long, long time before Calenhad, much less the Qunari arriving.

Something is wrong here, and I very much doubt it's the writers.

The Qunari don't seem to have any experience with the Blight.

But Corypheus seems to know about them, if not by the name Qunari. "What do they call you? Qunari? Your blood is engorged with decay! Your race is not a race, it is a mistake!"

And Kieran says that their blood doesn't belong to them. Tevinter experiment gone wrong?

Add in the Mosaic Codex entries that have the Seven Magisters on the same tile as Qunari, and many of the figures are carefully edited by the mason after the initial creation.

Anyone have any conspiracy theories they'd care to share?

Is that the date they conquered Par Vollen, or the date they invaded the continent? I believe there was a gap between the two.

I've not looked too closely at this, but the timeline seemed to fit to me. Ferelden's been a united country for about 300 years; the qunari have been in Par Vollen for about 300 years.

The timeline we've been given doesn't quite fit. There's ninety years between Calenhad succeeding with uniting Ferelden and the arrival of the Qunari in Par Vollen.

The annexation of Par Vollen is swift. They land in 6:30 and take it without notice, as it's barely held by Tevinter. In 6:32, word reaches the continent as the Qunari navy masses at northern Seheron and Rivain. The Qunari invasion of the continent begins then.

Calenhad disappeared tracking down Marterel the Elusive in order to find his old friend Aldernon. I guess it's possible he went on a boat trip and landed in kossith territory?

What is it with Theirins, boat cruises, and Qunari?
