I've spend ages on the bashable wall in the emerald graves... I didn't get why I couldn't get it open: attacking: nope, 'shieldbash' did not work (despite being the same icon)... 10 minutes later I found the 'F' button...

Skyhold has a kitchen?

There's stairs to the kitchen in the stables area, just to the right of the merchants. I never noticed them until pointed out to me. XD

I was about 80 hours into the game before I figured out how to travel to Val Royeaux. "Where's the travel button? There's no travel button! I don't want to 'View' it, I already know what it is, arrrgghh!"

It took me two games to find the mage tower I had built!

Hah!  I still haven't found it, or if I did, I didn't notice.  I just gave up after a while.

 

 

- Dagna told me to take runes to her to craft. "Don't worry, you'll see!" So I kept clicking on her after getting rune/masterwork materials trying to get her to make me one. *facepalm*

Man,that would have been useful in my first playhthrough.  It was a pain in the butt getting to him for my romantic adventures, oh and normal quest stuff too haha.  Not much use in the current playthrough though sadly, he seems to have bugged up and disappeared.  

 

Anyway, one big moment for me was that it was halfway through my first playthrough before I figured out that you could fast travel to different areas while in Skyhold/Haven.  I always marched myself back to the wartable whenever I needed to go somewhere...would have been helpful haha.

It took me 2 pts to realise I could travel to Redcliffe using it's fast travel point. (I thought they were area specific and could only be used by using another one). Any time I wanted to go to Redcliffe I'd map to nearest camp and run the rest of the way. Happy moment when I figured that out.

It's the tower that's above the garden. If you've built the tower, you should have already been up there since the device that lets you actually choose the tower is up there, too. I must admit I didn't find it on my own either. I was expecting one of the big main towers to change so kept looking out there and never bothered to turn around. XD

Yeah that reminds me another one, the first time I found one of the destroyable red lyriums in Hinterlands for Varric's quest, I tried right clicking but as a rogue it didn't seem to work... as an archer a few arrows didn't seem to work either (though later figured out that if I keep shooting it'll be destroyed). Ran around for a few minutes then got this crazy idea that I had other followers in my group and why not try as one of them. Turns out it's a warrior thing. D'oh.

 

Also remembered, for a little while I thought in order to fast travel inside a map you HAVE to right click on the pyramid thingies for it to work. Then while exploring map features and clicking on icons I realized there's 'TRAVEL' at the bottom of every fast travel point no matter where you are. Weirdly enough I didn't think that for camps and used fast travel between them with no problems. This applies to the "Fast Travel Stones" in the Fallow Mire too.

After getting the specialization quests, I was looking for bloodstone to become a Necromancer because that's what appealed to me on my first playthrough because I didn't stop to think about playing as Dorian, Vivienne or Solas to work out the tricks of their specs, couldn't find any in the Hinterlands or the Storm Coast, which is where I thought I could find it because the Nevarran Skulls were in the Storm Coast. Ended up becoming a Knight-Enchanter only to start discovering bloodstone in the Exalted Plains. 

 

Never thought to look at the "Places" in the codex as it describes exactly the resources that can be found and gathered.

I wanted to be smart and well prepared. Entered the Hissing Wastes with level 6, sneaked all the way to the merchant to buy the great schematics... just to find out, that I hadn't enough money to buy a single item. I really completely forgot that merchants (even non-existent, supposed to be dead ones) want money for wares.

I just learned I could dispel fade monsters before they could spawn during rift waves. Also learned that Druffalo is a NM player's best friend.

Spendin 2 hours looking for the grey warden camp because I didn't know about clicking the left stick to search for things.

Spending 9 thousand quid on dalish armour for sera only to find out she can't use it.

Haha, yeah. The first thing I do after I return to base is go up the stairs to that research table and then bother with vendor stuff.

That just gave me another "D'OH!" moment, because I sell my valuables always one at a time so I don't sell any creature research stuff -.-

I used to do the same the first few times, then I realized there's a better and faster way than bothering with that.

 

Not really a D'oh moment maybe, but I realized on my second PT that I'm actually harvesting deep mushroom off fossilized(?) spider corpses

 

(Honestly, if you stand on top of them and jump they make a squishy noise and blood come off them. Ew.)

Walking into the Hinterland dragon's lair at level 3 and not running the moment it started to fly. 

This happened to me. I had Cassandra say "she's taking flight!" and I was like "what is taking flight?", looking around in confusion. That was 5 seconds before the whole party turned into barbecue...

I talked to Viv's messenger, then went and finished a couple things at Skyhold.  When I tried to go to her party I'm afraid I missed it.

Oh -- change the windows and draperies in skyhold..... well it still looks the same to me.... Oh it's only in my quarters where I never go. Thanks Bioware!

 

Next was getting lost.... I kept getting lost wander wander wander wander. Where the f*** are we? Weren't we here ten minutes ago? Bioware needs to put people around the maps who know where things are - you know "plot armored" characters named Charlie, Weed, Elsa, etc.

 

"Hey, do you know how to get to.... a) B ) c) d) e).

 

"Sure mate. Take this path until you see a ruined tower, then make a sharp right. The sharp right, not the angled right. That other path will take you somewhere you really don't want to go, trust me. Then just before a farmhouse take a left...."

 

You know that would save a lot of time.

Oh for... just had a major one.

 

I always got so angry how I never saw my companions' equipments whenever I needed to enchant or upgrade them, I always unequipped the particular item I needed to apply the upgrade to so they showed up on the interface... completely missing the f***ing small character switch buttons underneath my character's name that jumped to their equipped items instead of mine. :/

 

I swear I'm such a doofus when it comes to this game's features. -.-
