Oh for... just had a major one.

I always got so angry how I never saw my companions' equipments whenever I needed to enchant or upgrade them, I always unequipped the particular item I needed to apply the upgrade to so they showed up on the interface... completely missing the f***ing small character switch buttons underneath my character's name that jumped to their equipped items instead of mine. :/

I swear I'm such a doofus when it comes to this game's features. -.-

I did that for a long time, wondering just what the Bio folks were smoking when they built the crafting UI... Then it was like Ohhhh I get it!

I did a leaping shot into the sulfur pits at the Exalted Plains with only a small bit of health left and my three party members dead. I raged so hard my roommate heard me from two rooms away.

Yup.. considering they're the same icons from the inventory and character skills panel, I wonder why I never bothered looking around more in that screen.

Oh well, lesson learned... lost 10 stupid points. :P

*Still rages at all the time lost unequipping and re-equipping the characters' gear whenever there was an upgrade*

Selling all of my thus far collected valuables, only to learn some valuables are actually useful for something beyond money.

For a long time I thought they took up inventory space, so if I was a long way from a merchant, like out in some dungeon somewhere, I'd just destroy the crafting resources to make room for that 2gp raider's dagger  :pinched:

LOL. But the worst part is... I ended up hoarding all of this useless junk, not knowing it even existed, never mind the fact that I looted every single thing off of a corpse or chest.

Oh boy, I guess I'm going to admit it. I couldn't find the map option from the menu or whatever buttons I pressed so I assumed that there's no map. So yeah, my only directions for the first 15 hours in the Hinterlands were the pointers you get from setting a quest active. Then some force of nature must have taken pity on me so that I stumble and accidentally press the left directional button, revealing the glorious sight that is the map.

Probably took another 15 hours for me to figure out that you can fast travel.

D'oh.

I didn't bother with the War Table so much my first playthrough and completely missed Dagna and subsequently the side quest to investigate Samson.  That was a pretty big d'oh moment for me.

Which ones?

Just asking 'cause I ran my ass off around Skyhold to find the warrior trainers.

I admit, I raced through my first playthrough.  Second one, I'd say so far my biggest d'oh moment was going to the Emerald Graves, talking to the scout and being thoroughly confused, nothing was familiar at all - realized I had COMPLETELY skipped going there my first time!

Knight Enchanter specialization. My mage Lavellan's favorite companions were Solas, Cole, Dorian, and Varric. Since they're all squishy mages and rogues, I had to bring Cassandra or Blackwall everywhere as a tank. After a few dozen hours of gameplay I started to resent having to take them EVERYWHERE and fill up a party slot I could have given to one of the companions I really liked.

I'd also heard Knight Enchanter was a great defensive specialization but stubbornly thought, "No, I want my PC to be a great offensive mage."

Not until the end of the game did I realize I could have taken the Knight Enchanter specialization and acted as a makeshift "tank" so I didn't HAVE to take one of the warriors with me everywhere. -_- (Since it's based on the ancient elves' Arcane Warrior specialization, it would have also been in-character for my elven heritage-revering Lavellan to take.)

Completly forgot to mention my biggest "D'OH!"-moment.

I didn't inform me about DA:I, 'cause I wanted to play it as spoiler-free as possible. The only thing I always kept an eye on was the release date. The rest was like 'I don't want to see this!'

To prepare me for the final release, I decided to play DA 2 once again. Had a lot of fun until the Legacy DLC. I really like this one, but I hate(!) the fight against Corypheus. It always pisses me off big time. I constantly die running around in circles, my group never does what I want her to, so I ended up - as always - yelling at my monitor in full rage.

Then came the glorious moment where I finally defeated the villain, shouting out 'That is the last time I killed you!'

So... the first time my Haven was attacked, it really was "D'OH, NOOOOOOOOOO!"

And during the whole first playthrough I was so afraid of the endgame, that I really did not want to do it.

I started a game of DA2 recently, but never got to the end before getting DA:I... Back in the day, I think I played DA2 maybe four times, but only once with the Legacy DLC, and I totally forgot who Corypheus even was, otherwise I'd have reacted the same way as you. I hated that boss battle in Legacy with a passion.

I've had a few "d'oh" moments:

1) Searching for deathroot for the assassin spec in the wilds only to realise that one of the merchants sell an infinite amount.

2) Trying to climb a mountain to get to Redcliffe when there is a road.

3) Realising it is Andrastian not Andrastrian.

4) Trying to figure out how to recruit Sera and then realised I needed to fast travel to the second floor.

5) Making Druffy angry.

6) Realising the console clock reset when I was playing offline so one of my wartable missions had a timer of about 10,000 hours. I guess Josephine likes to take her time when collecting resources. <_<

... there are probably more but these are a few off the top of my head.

That's my talent. Figured it out in TES, especially Skyrim. Whenever I need to reach a destination where I hadn't been before, I ended up climbing a mountain and then falling down that mountain to the entrance of the cave / monument / whatever. Just to figure out, that there was a path.

During my first Playthrough it always happened in Inquisition, too. And I knew it, as soon as I realized that my Inquisitor is able to jump...

When I entered Hinterland, I thought go straight to the horse master was a great idea. (Wow, first mission in chapter 1? This should be easy enough!)

Then I got my ass kicked by bears and despair demons.

Yeah the warrior trainers for me as well. In my defence I didn't really go into that area of Skyhold that much... nothing there.

I went to the Horsemaster right after speaking to Mother Giselle on both of my playthrough's so far. Never had an issue.

Unless you're playing on a higher difficulty?

Oh yeah, but you're not supposed to fight those until at least lvl 8-9. It's easy to just run past them to the Horsemaster. They don't bother you if you don't engage them.
