Shinnok himself is a 3D era character. So is Quan Chi, technically, since his playable debut was MK4. Ditto again for Tanya, though I don't think she's in the story mode, just a DLC character.

Tanya and Rain have their own in-game models that are incomplete/placeholder characters, as they don't have variations and Tanya seems to have the same stance as Kitana. Think the tarkatan soldiers and characters like that from the MK 9 Challenge Tower.

Definitely going to use: Cassie Cage (Brawler and Hollywood variations) and Kano (Commando Variation)

 

Might use: Mileena, Goro, Johnny Cage, and Tanya when she is released.

 

Really hoping that Skarlet becomes DLC in the future, since she was a favorite of mine in MK 9.

I really want to check out how Ferra/Torr plays like, the character looks like a lot of fun.

Since people mentioned Ferra/Torr, I saw their arcade ending. No open spoilers, but it's sad and a bit bittersweet.

Ferra hits puberty and undergoes a metamorphosis. While this is going on, Torr dies of old age. Later on, Ferra becomes a giant brute like Torr was a gets her own rider.

 

Also, speaking of arcade endings, they return as the short motion comics, like they were in MK9.

I actually got the same vibe from him. He almost looks like a mix between vanilla Lin Kuei and the Cyber initiative to me.

And the Shirai Ryu themselves are just a Japanese Lin Kuei.

 

Literally, their founder broke away from the Lin Kuei and moved to Japan to found his own clan, specifically to show that his style of fighting was better than theirs.

That's why they killed off the Shirai Ryu, they were too epic to appear in the game

Sub-Zero and Kenshi

 

These two have always been my top two personal favorite characters. Sub-Zero all the way back to 93 when I first played MK and Kenshi back in 2003 when I got DA. I am a character loyalist. It doesn't matter to me if they are garbage or top tier. I stick with them.

 

Heck I will go ahead and list my top-5 MK characters of all time.

 

1.Sub-Zero

2.Kenshi

3.Jade

4.Kitana

5.Frost/Li Mei

 

Ok that is six but Frost and Li Mei have always been in a tied. I cant choose one above the other.

 

Speaking of Li Mei that is her in my avatar. It seem her voice actress is Kelly Hu. That is a pretty big get for NRS. It could strengthen her chances of perhaps being DLC for MKX. Plus given how detail her design is as well.

I'm happy that both Li Mei, Frost and Sareena will have a cameo during the Story Mode.
