-Li Mei's VA is actually FerraTara Strong not Kelly Hu
Hmm. I would've expected Ferra to be voiced by Ashley Burch. Ferra actually sounds way more Ash than Cassie Cage (whom she voiced in the game) does.

There was discussion about whether Kung Jin was gay. It turn out he is. Someone at NRS confirm this.

When was that even hinted at in the story?

We're at the point where people expect a good story in every game. If it's proper criticism for Destiny or CoD, then it's proper criticism for MKX.

There the point is that the story in MKX is actually quite good. Then you should also remember that NO other fighter on the market has come close to having a story comparable to this and MK9, yet they dock it points because they dont like how "you see its all about family yet you kill each other in MP". That is legit one of his gripes with the story.
I call shenanigans

Yep, that's when you call someone a moron

Ah, I see. I haven't played the game, so I can't say anything about the story. I only assumed it was bad because, well, stories usually are not what the developers focus on. That just sounds like one of those random docks that IGN is becoming more and more known for. That particular complaint just makes no sense either from a narrative perspective or a gameplay perspective.

exactly. Thats why I am complaining. That, and because the story is actually very good. I have yet to talk to someone who didnt like it.

That's promising. I'm gonna pick this up next week. Sadly, I needed groceries this week.
The music is good too
I found this on another forum on who voices the characters. It look like one mistake was corrected. Kelly Hu doesn't voice Li Mei.
I cant link directly to the post. It is the one at the very bottom of this page. I will just copy and paste what was said.

Aaccording to this: https://twitter.com/bcharred(One of the writers)
-Jacqui's VA also voices Sareena
-Li Mei's VA is actually FerraTara Strong not Kelly Hu
-Kelly Hu instead voices D'Vorah, Sindel and...Frost!
-And Fred Tatasciore will be voicing Tremor so I'm lookin forward to hear what he'll do there.
-Turns out Jennifer Hale did voice Tanya so neat.
-Steve Blum voices..Reptile? And Bo Rai'Cho?! Damn. props to Steve Blum.
-Greg Eagles does Jax and Baraka. Baraka sounded better here than in 9. More growly and gruff.
-Annd Troy Baker voices Erron Black, Shinnok and Fujin.
Kelly did D'Vorah? Couldn't even tell
Finally able to join. I
the game and I
FerraTorr.

If you check that guy twitter out. He pretty much list off all of the voices and which characters they voiced.
NRS really stepped up their game with the Voice Actors this time around. Compare to stuff they had in the past. For example:
The netcode for this game is pretty bad. Of the handful of online fights I tried today, only 1 of them was without any bad input lag on my button presses.
It's really hard to fight a corner-wh*ring Kano when there's a 2-second delay on all of your attacks because the other guy gets his internet from the local Starbucks.
On the other hand, Mileena is a lot of fun, and her Piercing variation has some easy 30%+ combos (but good luck performing them with the bad netcode).
Honestly, whoever did the tech work for Injustice should have came back. Injustice had some questionable balance issues, but at least fighting online was stable and didn't make me want to slit my wrists in frustration. I don't know what it is with NRS and bad connection issues. Literally any other game I play on either my Xbox or my computer is silky smooth, but MK9 and MKX are both horrid.
The story is good. I am not sure if I want to play through it again. MK9 story I wanted to replay multiple times. This one I feel once is enough. Plus I can always go back and rewatch it instead. Something MK9 should have had in it.
Gameplay and Graphically this easily the best MK for me. Plus there is a lot to do just in single player. The Krypt is amazing. I don't play the MP so I don't know about the netcode. I am hearing mix reation toward it. Some are having no trouble and some are having issues.
Completed the story mode this morning and I agree, once through seems good enough. I heard the QTEs were to have some bearing on the ending, but, I dunno, each one had such a long timer on it that it was almost impossible to mess up, so I question their inclusion altogether. Having to have 4 fights per chapter also felt weary after a time. I realize they want a different character for each chapter and for the player to have enough time, eg. more fights, with the character, but at that point it started to feel more like arcade mode than a proper story mode, IMO; they could have been a bit more creative. I did think the seamless transition from cutscenes to fights was excellent, though.
Going to get into training now and some online battles. Still set on maining D'Vorah. Maybe Reptile, too. Kung Jin was really fun to use in the story, so I'll give him a try. Will be waiting on Jason, though lol.
BTW is anyone else on PC having a horrid time getting 60fps on some stages? I've noticed that it doesn't matter if my settings are on the lowest or on the highest, Sky Temple, for example, always acts up. Granted, an OC'd 660 and i5-3570K are a few years old now, but for a game like Mortal Kombat... It's poor optimizing, really, and I hope they patch it soon.
Did the little faction war dealie: Mileena is super-armored and likely set to very hard so I only did minor damage to her. The Tower was pretty fun, but it was a real pain doing one of the matches that handicapped me with health loss for every jump, crouch, and special move performed.
Of course Lin Kuei is in the lead, while Black Dragon is in fourth, the last time I checked anyways.
If the devs do another kombat pack I hope they add Li Mei and Sareena.
5 or 6 online fights on XB1 today, and not one of them was good in terms of lag (or a lack thereof). So, yep, NetherRealm's online infrastructure needs tweaking. The connections killed MK9 online for me (a damn shame too, since MK9 and MKX are both tremendously fun to play, and none of my IRL friends have this game, so I can't do local MP).
On the other hand, I did learn some easy 25%+ combos for Cryomancer Sub-Zero and I did manage to win every one of my fights online (but mostly due to button mashing, since it was impossible to perform any combos).
I know I said I would main Ninjutsu Scorpion, but so far, Piercing Mileena and Cryomancer Sub-Zero are looking better (Sub-Zero in particular). I thought I would like the Ninjutsu variation more than I actually do, I prefer playing Hellfire Scorpion (I think is the name of the variation, the one that gives him the Flame Aura and Fireball specials).

Maximilian Dood and others talked about how they could do an Ultimate MKX
I could never get into Kotal Kahn. His damage output seems good enough, but he's too slow for my tastes. Granted, I'm basing this entirely off of his chapter in the story mode, so I haven't devoted a ton of time into learning him. I've always been more a fan of the faster and more agile characters (which is why I love Mileena so much, and was pretty good with Kitana in MK9 and Batman in Injustice). I've never actually seen anyone play with Kotal online. People seem content to spam with Cutthroat Kano or Hellfire Scorpion, from my experience (and I seriously hate people who just push you into a corner and spam with Kano or Scorpion, because you're unable to do anything when the game decides that having a decent netcode isn't worth the trouble and your inputs are delayed).
