Boon is supposed to be the Kombat Kast today when they go through Jason's gameplay.

Skarlet showed up in the comic, and I'm still crossing my fingers for her to show up as a DLC character.
Just saw the article, hope they don't kill her off
She also has a new design too

Can anyone post scans of Skarlet's comic appearance? I can't find it online and I haven't bought any of the issues.

I think it looks alright, although I'm not sure if it fits her to wear a futuristic looking stealth suit.
And I hope she lives through the comic too.

The outfit looks weird on her with it being all black and her wearing the red mask

I would take so many things from the Komics over what we saw in the game. Just generally more interesting and less Superkids-centric. With that said, I did enjoy MKX's story. It a pretty solid game altogether and I had a lot of fun with it. Found myself using Johnny Cage a lot more than I thought I would, lol. Ermac was my favourite going in but I just found Johnny a lot better to use in the game. Kung Jin is pretty damn good too.

Jason's Slasher variation is a lot of fun to play with. His Relentless variation is just Solomon Grundy from Injustice all over again (and Grundy was stupid easy to play, a blind/deaf/dumb person could routinely pull off 30%+ combos with him) with the emphasis on command grabs and grab extensions. I haven't played with nor seen anyone play his Unstoppable variation yet, but on paper it seems like a turtle's wet dream come true, since he can resurrect once a round.
All in all so far, Slasher is the most "balanced" variation. I've already learned 2 combos for it that can deal more than 30% damage, but unlike Relentless, it has no teleport and no command grabs, it's all about using Jason's machete and chaining juggles with special moves. And unlike Unstoppable, Jason doesn't have multiple defensive abilities. Relentless is all command grabs with a teleport. Unstoppable is the "safe" variation that lets Jason resurrect once per round, with the amount of health he regenerates dependent on the amount of meter he has.
Relentless is the safer offensive variation between it and Slasher (a lot of Jason's Slasher combos have slow recovery on whiffs and moderately slow start frames), but Slasher seems like it can peak higher damage spikes and is better for mix-ups, on top of having generally longer reach due to Jason's machete. Relentless, best I can tell, is all about using the same chain of grabs ad extensions. His combos in that variation are only for opening into a grab and padding a little bit of extra damage.
Also, Jason's arcade ending is my favorite in the game thus far. It's a pseudo-continuation of Liu Kang's ending.

I noticed this is how some people feel and I don't agree honestly
The story being told through the eyes of Cassie,Jacqui, Takeda, and Kung Jin makes more sense than it being told through the eyes of older characters
Out of all 12 chapters I can point to only 1 being unnecessary and that would be Sub-Zero but everything else was great, fleshing out each of the new characters is a smart move rather than regulating chapter to every returning combatant
True enough I will admit the comic is leagues better but they have that luxury of having no limits to what they can draw up but games have a big glaring limit called Budgets just saying
Still imo, until someone can point me to another fighting game with a cinematic story mode not made by NRS I say ease up amd cut them some slack for going the extra mile

Plus the comics are telling the story through the eyes of the older characters plus Kotal Kahn, which probably also a reason people like it more. It has characters they already knew
I liked the fact that MKX story was basically passing the torch to the next generation (Though Scorpion will still probably be in the game

It's nonsense but it honestly only caters to the casual side so it doesn't really affect anyone

Easy 34% Slasher Jason combo w/ no meter:
D = down
F = forward
B = backward
1 = X button (Xbox)/Square button (Playstation)
2 = Y button/Triangle button
3 = A button/X button (Playstation)
4 = B button/Circle button
Letters/numbers with spaces between them are part of the same sequence, the comma indicates a break in the sequence (i.e. a juggle)--
F+4 3, F+4 3, 1 1, D F 1 (if you meter the special at the end of the chain, I think it reaches 38% damage). You should also be able to get in a third 1 attack before the special, but 2 is generally easier since the third 1 in Jason's chain knocks the enemy away. If you can squeeze in the third 1 before connecting with the special, the total damage will be 34% with no meter (40% with 1 bar).
Alternatively, you can chain his X-Ray at the end instead of his D F 1 special and it will top out at 50% damage. Probably the easiest BnB combo in the game, but it's super punishable and can be seen coming a mile away. On the other hand, it's not every day you have an easy 50% combo.
Another super easy one for Cryomancer Sub-Zero (28% no meter, and you can't end it with a special):
F+1 3 3, F+4 3 3+4

Neither Tremor or Tasia's designs were anything special back when they debuted so an update is to be expectedSo Chapter 19 of the comic series showed Tremor, also Tasia has a completely new design
If they make a Kombat Pack 2 she might make it but if the loudest voices get their way, then expect Rain or Baraka, Kabal, Spawn and any highly requested female.
Just my guess since NRS has always love appeaaing the fans, one of the few studios that still does post release
EDIT: lol sometimes I sound drunk when I type late at night

I watched AJ's review. It seems that the PC version sucks.
I don't like that many of the previous characters are replaced by new ones. Also I don't like the new clothes and face design of older characters (for example Raiden). The story mode seems lame too. Only the Krypt look more interesting, + Finishings...
I'll pass. I'm satisfied with MK IX anyway.

The whole "it's got new characters, 2/10 the game sucks" complaint makes not the slightest f*****g bit of sense to me. Would you rather every game past the original Mortal Kombat have the same roster of 7 fighters and still use digitized 2D sprites of actors in costumes?
I left the GameFAQs fighting game boards because of that idiotic line of thinking. "It doesn't have Sheeva/Frost/Smoke/whoever, so I'm not getting it". I mean, GameFAQs is horrid for plenty of other reasons, but every other thread being a "NRS is sux y no have [character]" kind of deal just made it a chore to try and read and unbelievably boring.
But then these are the same people who b***h and moan about stagnation. If NRS were to just copy and paste the roster again for MK11, I guarantee there will be people shrieking on about how NRS isn't creative anymore and how WB Games has killed the series and how Ed Boon is an idiot (because he's the target for the blame even if he isn't responsible for what the complaint is even about).
