The game was fine like 3 weeks ago, but somehow thence I noticed there have been flickering textures all around, especially on trees, and rock shades, in Hinterlands and the Exalted Plains. Some people say it's due to SLI, but I have only one 780ti and it ran perfectly fine.

I am worrying if it's my card cuz I checked GPU-Z during the game, it says my GPU load is 99. But when I was playing Mordor and ACU, my GPU load is 99 too, and they all worked fine. And the framerates keep over 60.

I just want to know if it's my gear or just the game~~~if some one has this problem too, then I can rest assured and wait for patches quietly~~~~

Hi!

I had some flickering skies and rocks, but I was lucky I only experienced it in two areas of the world. In my case, and this does of course not prove it is the same for all of you out there, it was SLI.

I am running a configuration with two 780ti cards, basically because I wanted to be able to play at 2560x1440. When turning of SLI in an area where I had previously experienced flickering, it went away, but just one 780ti card couldn't handle the settings I had and it led to other problems. For me the flickering was very limited, so I kept on playing with SLI, but mind you the game still pushed both my GPU:s up to 99%, so the game is really NOT optimized at all. ;-)

Regards!

Try this in your startup desktop or origin - it won't fix everything, but should help w/ flicker:  -GameTime.MaxSimFps 60 -GameTime.ForceSimRate 60+

There are SLI issues, but most of those are the bad calls to directx.  After the last update my old card could not function with DA3 -no other game had that issue.  Nvidia was being rather slow to update, so I got a new one and it works fine -the game is still very buggy, but it works.

Hey there! 780 ti and exactly the same issue. Patches improved performance so I thought I'll finally give this game a go but once I got to hinterlands i started seeing so much flickering. Some textures every now and then, objects appearing in the air (trees and stones!) for less than a second and disappearing...  Bioware, why?

Right, been playing with drivers. The recent drivers from December improved DA:I's performance at the expense of those flickering issues. Might be a gtx 780 ti problem from a specific manufacturer. reported to nvidia.

The only texture flicker bug that was real bad for me was when dealing with the darkspawn on the Storm Coast. The Blades of Hesserian archers had some kind of texture on their bows that created a strobe light effect where the textures were stretching all over the place.

Other than that, some textures flicker, particularly when colliding with other textures. They compete for which is in front of the other.

I've been seeing texture flickering as well. I'm using a 780 Nvidia card.

Same here. Single 780. Nvidia driver 347.52 didn't  fix the issue.

Day 1 in November, this has been my case.  :P

1. The game artifacts/ flickers with a single 780ti card in heavily forested areas (e.g. Exalted plains, Hinterlands, Emerald graves, and some areas of Storm-Coast )... But in the Sandy desert areas, its not as prevalent or basically non-existent.

GPU usage is always 90+ outside of towns (e.g. Haven, Skyhold, Redcliff villages)... This game really strains a single card badly.

2. Sometime in January, I bought an additional 780ti, now I've been in SLI, and the flicker still happens in the same areas.

GPU usage is 30-60+ on both cards in outside of towns (e.g. Haven, Skyhold, Redcliff Village)

Personally... I'd like to see GPU's in SLI running at 70-90 usage, but it doesn't happen and it makes me feel like my cards refuse to push max-performance.

Everything in GFX is maxed, except MSAA x2. (Textures are also set to Faded-Touch Textures)

CPU FX 8350 OC 4.5ghz

RAM 8GB

Win7

(Game is installed on HDD 1TB)

FPS average is 55-60fps, (excluding HUB towns which all run terribly laggy, 35-60fps in Skyhold and even less in Redcliff 20-45fps.)

Please tell me your Comp specs.    :o   :(

HOW are your 780ti's both 90 percent in-game? Is this also in Skyhold? Hoooow?!

Can you post a shadow-play video on Twitch or Youtube or something?

I have a couple of videos in 720p recorded...

I use EVGA Precision overlay to verify GPU usage Geforce Experience to track FPS.

I've been communicating with nvidia customer service and they told me that this issue is in the game itself, not with nvidia drivers. Apparently they have had lots of reports of this issue and I assume they've tested it thoroughly to conclude it's not the drivers that are at fault.

I'm posting here in hopes of gaining more attention to this problem as it's quite a gamebreaking one, for me at least.

Does Patch 6 fix the problem?
