Running Routine Elven Ruins solo with Legionnaire level 13 (Turn The Bolt passive enabled) against Venatori.  The very start of Wave 3/5 with 100% health and 90% Guard -  I run down the stairs, seeing a single Venatori archer, getting ready to pound some flesh with my 256 DPS Unique mace and before I feel the crunch, ZAP!!  Bar goes red and I stagger and die.  The archer says  "Right between the eyes"  Liliana is saddened.

 

I've never seen this before.  Is this a glitch or working as intended?  Is there are golden arrow 1-shot kill for the NPCs?

I have been insta killed with full health and near full barrier or guard a number of times by archers.  someone was saying they get a full draw arrow off when they retreat or something to the effect.  I fear archers more than any enemy in the game.

I am glad I am not the only one that has had this happen to.

I recently found out this is a thing. I guess it happens when you close to melee. From my understanding, if you see the archer run away from you then take cover because he will turn around and one shot you.

Played probably ~50 solos; only had this happen once.

Beware when they run away from you, that is a move where they run 5 paces then turn around and shoot for way more than their full draw shot.
