I was using Iron Bull as my tank of choice when i noticed he seemed to be taking a lot of damage, even in fairly minor skirmishes. This was in spite of just having crafted him some pretty spiffing new armour with a massive 215 health bonus with the arms and legs add-ons.

Anyway checked the stats and was shocked to find massive MINUS figures for Melee Defence, Ranged and Magic Defence. -179% on one case. Looking at the other characters Cassandra also had minus figures in all three stats although not as much, -88% on average.

Of the three Warriors only Blackwall had "normal" figures around the base 0 to + Figures.

Couldn't work this out at all, it doesn't appear to have anything to do with the armour they're wearing.

Anyone else noticed this? Am i missing something blindingly obvious?

I'm now using Blackwall as my regular tank.

Uh are you using Beserk gear?

Iron Bull's never had negative melee defense in my game O_o

Do you mean Qunari specific armour?

No. Obviously saw that the helmets have to be Qunari, but as long as the game allowed me to fit him with either existing or crafted armour then thought it was ok. Just use or craft general warrior/heavy armour.

Also just changed him out of his new armour and left him with his default starting outfit....and same negative defence stats. :(

Plus, the incompatible armour thing wouldn't apply to Cassandra would it?

Do any of the games designers come on here? lol

Ok figured it out. And Ryzaki, you were right on the money. :)  It wasn't the armour, it was the weapons.

I'd crafted masterwork weapons for both Iron Bull and Cassandra with the Masterwork element being +20% Berserk damage, what i'd failed to realise was that that bonus came with a penalty, a big +200% (incoming) damge from all sources!! I think i just saw the figures and thought "Oh yeah, i'll have some of that!" without reading properly.

Glad i got to the bottom of that one...it was driving me crazy....just wish i hadn't wasted so many top tier materials on weapons that have too much of a downside to equip. Oh well, live and learn.

And thanks Ryzaki for pointing me in the right direction.
