So I have one dagger with the best DPS of my choices and it deals damage in an AoE rather than single target. I then have a dagger with the second best DPS but hits only one target and a third one with the lowest DPS of these three but also hits an AoE. I'm trying to figure out what happens when you pair an AoE dagger with a single target one. It appears to do the same animations as with two AoE daggers, but I'd like to be sure before I salvage my AoE one.

Here's the deal: Whatever style of weapon you place in your main hand determines the attack pattern of your character.

IE:

Mainhand: AOE

Offhand: AOE

Attack pattern: AOE

Mainhand: AOE

Offhand: single

Attack pattern: AOE

Mainhand: Single

Offhand: Single

Attack pattern: Single

Mainhand: Single

Offhand: AOE

Attack pattern: Single

How does that effect relative attack speed? Would say sticking a higher damage but lower dps dagger in the offhand and then a higher dps but lower damage double blade in your main hand result in getting the damage of dagger per swing but at the double blades faster swing rate?

Or Is it averaged out?

When I tried out my various daggers I had different results. I put my best weapon damage dagger in my main hand (single target) and my best dps dasher in my offhand (aoe).

When I used my abilities they didn't change; however, when I was auto attacking I noticed differences in each hand.

My main hand was stabby stabby like you'd expect. My offhand wasn't. I was swinging my dagger outward (like a haymaker).

The same is true for 2 Handed weapons. Abilities stay the same, but your auto attacks are either straight forward or swinging around like a crazed barbarian.
