Well I pre-ordered Mass Effect 2 from GameStop because I wanted the nifty DLC of the exclusive armor and weapon and I chose "in-store pickup" and chose my local GameStop which today, I found out to be a big mistake.
I went to my local GameStop and showed them my email and sure enough, they had it. I paid for it in cash and they gave it to me but no card with the pre-order bonus claim code and I asked the man at the register "Excuse me, where is my pre-order bonus claim code card?" and he looked confused and asked "What card? Is it only for 360?" and I said "No sir, it's not. It said on YOUR website that both PC *and* 360 pre-orders would receive a card if the person selected "in-store pickup" which I did." and he looked further confused and said "Maybe it's in the box." so the man opened the box and the only code in it is for the Cerebus Network which is available to ALL players and I explained that, so he said to me "No sir, we don't have any of these pre-order bonus claim cards. They weren't shipped to this location." and then he said to this other person "Call Loch Raven [another GameStop in Baltimore, where I live] and see if they have these cards that this person is talking about." so this other person did and I finally got the pre-order code which was read over the phone and given to me written on a receipt, it worked when I redeemed it. But since they didn't have the pre-order bonus, I won't be using in-store pickup again... Now if EA can fix their servers so I can ACTUALLY play Mass Effect 2 today.
Will not do in-store pickup with my local GameStop ever again.
