So I am considering which would be the safest bet. I have done both. One where I used Liliana's spies to destroy the contract. And I did the going to Val Royeaux a few times to meet people.

I notice that no one gets killed by sending Liliana's spies. Also no mention of it in her report. It mentions that other contract were found.

Which route would you take?

I like going the diplomatic route with the House of Repose. Their contact was fairly honorable for an assassin, and it seems like they present you with an option and time to get the contract cancelled. I get the impression they aren't exactly thrilled about the contract but a job is a job and they have a reputation to uphold..so they give you a warning and time to get it sorted out.

Diplomatic route mainly because it allows you to be exposed to more important people, which ups your profile with nobles and the like. My main question is what happens if you try to seduce that one Council of Heralds lady that tells you not to attempt to seduce her?

Is that one that comes out to greet you from her party?

I usually take leliana's route as much as I love seeing my name IRL on one of Josie's reports. Sorry Josie, but you just take too long.

I always let Leliana destroy the contract, I wish there was an option to destroy the HoR's as well - disclaimer: the expression used was entirely intentional.

Well I am not going risk ruining my relationship. So I am going spies this time around. Josephine will just have to deal with it.

I go with Leliana's route.  I am not taking chances with security.  Best to get this mess over with so Josephine can concentrate on her duties and I keep Skyhold a bit safer as well.

It's Josie's personal business and she has a plan to resolve it, so I followed her wishes. Well-intentioned and concerned for her friend though Leliana is, it just feels better to let the person affected by the situation dictate the solution even though I personally wanted to give that assassin what for.

Yeah it seems like if you go Josephine's route than you are left with a dead body on the floor of her office.

I send spies. Josephine's plan was overly complicated and my Inquisitor had more important things too do.

I've sent spies both times so far.  The longer the contract is out there the longer Josephine is in danger, better to get it done as quickly as possible.

I think that this is what they should have done with this mission. Since all the meetings were in Val Royeaux. We should have checked into some sort of hotel or lodging. Because it seems rather mundane to travel from Val Royeaux 3 times back from Skyhold. I mean travel time back and forth probably takes weeks at a time. Well maybe a weeks time to travel each way.

I actually don't know the miles between each place. But I don't know. Using Liliana's spies keep Josephine out of harms way.

lol its funny how she discourages Lelianas plan because  she claims to "not wanting any more bloodshed on my behalf", when several members of the inq die protecting her while she is making this ridiculous and drawn-out plan to elevate  that noble family   There would be far less bloodshed if she goes with Lelis plan.

Interesting. I went with Josie's plan and don't remember this -- it's something that actually occurs in Skyhold itself, and isn't just mentioned in a report?
