Sympathies. I checked my weapon challenges and on PC, those are the only two weapons I've never done. And the pain of doing them on console is still with me. Any suggestions for the best mods, kits, and ammo to get them done as fast as possible?

Did it with Justicar and CSMG as backup. Pop heads and Warp ammo actually kills stuff on gold. Shuriken must be worse - it's got burst fire and recoil. Hornet was a pain...

Also I have trouble completing the Scimitar. Tried it with the Human Adept but ended up meleeing and using combos... This thing is the ultimate omni blade handle.

For the Scimitar, put it on the HI or AIU and use HVB and Smart Choke. You have 8 rapid shots, so although each doesn't do much damage, you can approach Wraith-like kill rates. It's hardly OP, but perfectly usable on Gold.

 

The Shuriken's recoil is completely tamed by the SMG Recoil System - most of us have a worse impression of it that it deserves, because we used it at level I with no useful mods when we started playing. And everything else is admittedly better....

Yes, HB and piercing does fine on the Predator. I tended to lose myself in aiming down barrel too much to do proper Justicar gameplay. It worked very well in silver solos though.

I finished my Predator challenge using the DAI, and I must say....it's a peashooter even on him 

 

I will never finish the Shuriken challenge.

Update: Siren and I did a Silver Cerb duo and I took the Predator with HB + Extended Mag + AP III. I shot non-stop for the entire game - my right index finger hurts - and was able to do about 1/3 of the challenge. So it's unpleasant but doable. I guess that's kind of a "midlight".

You don't recall needing the scope to get all 3 bullets to land in the same spot? Barrage Gear instead of Scope should work too.

I actually really like the Predator. It is a decent light gun.

Ususally, there was a point when I would switch to the CSMG for the rest of the match on Gold. Drop the mag and take piercing. The reload is fast enough. That frees you to take Warp IV and the mighty Justicar.

I seem to have become a PC exclusive recently. Maybe I'll make it back to Xbox soon, if there's sufficient demand

High: so a Paladin, a Slayer, and a Turian Sentinel walk into a wave 8 gold reaper spawn of marauders and ravagers, and after a few seconds of broken glass, phase disruption, electrocution and intense heat, they walk out with a non-missile killstreak.

High: I topped score as a field medic (Geth engineer) and dumb puggernaut didn't extract

 

Low: It was a bunch of newbie pugs who didn't know how to crowd control or kill. I had to clutch for them because the puggernaut in the lobby was probably a

12 year old who doesn't understand the concept of objectives and never heavy melee'd once. 

he was literally walking around on the other side of the map jerking himself off. Mind you this is reapers. and trying to dodge banshees on Escort on dagger is reasonably difficult with a squishy geth engi, the damn puggernaut never helped me. I had to lure the banshee's into his stupid face so that i had time to finish the escort. I'm glad that jabronie didn't extract.

High: Modded Platinum game against Collectors on Rio, full extraction.

Low: Someone was down every single wave... (including me, multiple times)

High: Tried the Havoc for the first time.  Started with a bronze solo to figure out the timing of havoc strike, jetpack dodge, and double-striking; then did a couple of silver PUGs which went pretty smoothly.  This guy's got potential.

 

Low: I can already tell that when I take him to gold I'm going to die a lot.  Havoc striking into a crowd of pyros and hunters can work on silver, but in gold, I suspect, not so much.

 

High: PUG'ged into a modded game on one of the unfinished maps.  I think that's a first.

Low: It wasn't in fact an unfinished map; it was the debugging map, never intended to become playable, with random doodads and devices placed all around and areas completely inaccessible to one another without messing with the gravity settings.  Why would you ever choose to play a public match on that map?  And why on silver?

Hosted gold vs cerberus on ghost as QFI sniper with valiant. Had a kroguard in the process of being synched by everything. One time an unshielded atlas grabs him. Used my valiant with AP3 ammo to shoot through the cockpit glass, and break the shoulder plate on the opposite site, making the atlas drop him.

 

Also had a krosent carrying a pizza on gold vs cerb on hydra. Hosting, and using my QFI + valiant X as usual. Phantom leaves the elevated path in front of the LZ to go to the left-most path where the pizza delivery boy is. I immediately move from the LZ to the left path. Phatom melees krosent. Shot phantom once to force the flip. Headshot a second time in the window after the flip where her passive anti-host DR is inactive which broke barrier, and delt health damage. Shot her a 3rd time right after the flip + cloak in the same window. Dead phantom by headshot.

[Obsidian Gryphon]

High - throwing cerberus troopers. They go BONG! off a hard surface and sometimes bounced back like a ball depending on angle they hit the surface. Get them at the top of the ladder or an edge and they can really fly.

 

Low - missile lovers letting loose for no perceivable reason other than the obvious.

High: discovered that I love the Krysae sniper rifle on a turian. It's a particularly effective anti-Phantom weapon, among other things.

Low: I absolutely HATE most Council (asari, turian, salarian) kits but have to keep playing them because grinding waves is my last remaining challenge for Best of the Best. In particular, Annihilation Field makes my eyes hurt.
