I never considered Sabotage to be useful, mainly because apart from a hacked synthetic, it doesn't give visual feedback. And also because I've hardly ever used the QFI and Quarksman.

 

TY for the build QMR, I'll try this out.

 

Meh, I find 3 points in Sabotage good enough on my FQI, because I play the weapon.

Low: I have finally met a Box-of-shamer. 

 

Lower: They only revealed themselves as such after wave 6

 

Lowest: They weren't very good at that. The kit was the Assguard, and they managed to get themselves synced by a banshee nearly every wave they spent in the box, wave 10 included.

Low - Hydra, Collectors. I was playing as an Asari Adept (which is a class I rarely use). One team mate left around save 6, presumably because he was like 30k behind everyone else. I managed to get myself killed running away from a Praetorian and two possessed Scions on wave 10 because we were getting completely overwhelmed. The other two team members sadly didn't make it. One took down the other with a possessed abomination which was hilarious, then went down themselves. Both had no medigel left XD

So I tried QMR's QFI melee build with a slight change (5/6/6/6/3 ... EDIT: yes, stupid me forgot about the top 3 ranks in fitness. Time to respec) on Gold. I couldn't think of what shotgun to put on her, so I started out with Disciple with melee mod.

 

1st match, a GIP against Collectors on Rio. It was brutal and my screen was red for most of the game. Even so, I got a little better as the match wore on. Not in meleeing anything but shooting stuffs with the Disci. Managed to finish 3rd.

 

2nd and 3rd matches, against Geth on Glacier. Bitchslapping Geth is a lot of fun, Sabotage makes morons of all of them (although, the Prime still doesn't kill anything other than his turret) and Sticky Grenades are devastating in such close quarters.

 

Had a couple of games against Cerberus and one more against Geth. I tried a lot of weapon sombinations, Reegar with Arc Pistol, Reegard with GPSMG, Piranha with GPSMG. I'd prefer a pistol or AR to the shotgun but I didn't want to lose that extra 25% melee damage that the shotgun mode gives you versus the melee mods on those two.

 

Thoughts,

 

1. Do enemy weapons actually overheat? I did not notice any of them stop firing. Especially obvious in the case of Dragoons.

 

2. The duration of Sabotage is supposed to be 10 seconds but a hacked turret doesn't seem to fire more than one burst. Compared to how it keeps firing against us in unhacked mode.

 

3. A Quarian bitchslap still only takes off 2-3 armor bars of a Prime (I did enjoy executing a few Geth Primes though). You need a good weapon with it.

 

4. Heavy Meleeing Phantoms is a bad idea.

 

5. A HM triggers the Preatorian's bubble.

 

6. Shadow is arguably a better melee character even without Shadow Strike?

No, devices against Cerberus in general ... :sick:  =]

 

Also, I hate getting targets on Wave 3 and all 4 of them happen to be the highest boss units of the faction. **** that.

Is that... a melee build without melee passives?  If it is....

Low: Computer is absolute garbage recently and need some new lenses for my glasses so i don't play like bat on mass effect anymore

Plan of Action.
Temporarily delay corner cleaning (pest management, hazardous waste, endangered species control)
and see whether cleaning you glasses gives u a new perspective on things.

It helped me way back as teenager.

On Endor she also had a front row seat of me cowering with her behind a tree with 4 health after I was getting lit up with explosive shot.  The dude comes up out of the stream and laid me down right there......I got to watch her shoot him in the face from my kill cam though :)  I know she was laughing at me.


Now , think good and hard about it Next_Artichoke, in retrospect- is there any chance that it looked like T-bagging?
The thought of such public disgrace makes me shy away from BSN DAWGS. Mean mean mean.

We don't play survival mode or anything.  We just play Walker Assault.  Empire gets 1 or 2 walkers and there are 6 progressive uplink points through the map.  2 pop up at a time.  The Rebels either hold them long enough and do enough damage to kill the Walker, or they don't and they die once it reaches their evac ship.

I didn't notice it at first because I've preferred the Cycler since the Jan balance changes, (apart from anti aircraft/vehicle and Jumpcannoning, which the Pulse is great for) but yeah. They lowered your movement speed while charging, which was in the patch notes, but I think they introduced some more moving spread as well. Probably want more people to use the Cycler, or just other cards in general (Bowcaster also got buffed and is useful again, albiet not as godly as it was at launch).

The way spread values have worked in past DICE games is that they are additive to a maximum, and they have a constant rate of reduction i.e. it isn't instantaneous. Latency exacerbates this. Basically, if you don't want Pulse shots flying off in random directions, make sure you have been entirely stationary for a second after you've stopped moving, so the moving spread you accumulated has time to drop back down to base. 

Or just use the Cycler. It got another buff and instant headshots > longass charge time. It also doubles as a quick draw shotgun if you aren't carrying one (which you probably are, but w/e)

 

I've noticed something before even reading about it on the forums, but I thought it was just me having a bad day. After I read it, I checked and yeah, standing still makes it work like before, but it's obviously more dangerous. You don't even need 1 full sec, I think half is enough, but it's also enough to get counter sniped. I honestly don't mind the change as it's a very powerful star card, but I really hate that it didn't get mentioned. These things drive me crazy.

 

Plus, no more interesting sniping duels! :( I remember a couple weeks ago I was playing blast on endor , and I found my way over the crashed transport. I got quite a few kills from there, so the opponent team noticed me and started to try and take me down. It was mostly noobs to be honest, but there were a couple of experienced players. I spot one of these, in his shadow trooper suit, standing still very far away, clearly trying to snipe me. I have my pulse out already, so I think "okay, let's do this!". I start charging and moving in a straight line to the right, while aiming slightly on the right of him. Then when it's almost full and I know he's charged too, I make a sudden step to the left and release the trigger. He fires first, but the shot fliies on my right by a couple cm, while I'm dead on target. Enemy defeated, nemesis bonus, and such a frigging big satisfaction for me :D Things like that are gonna be hard to pull off now. Though jumpcannoning still seems to work normally, I just got my first kill that way. I'm still a noob, yeah.

 

Oh and yeah, I'm loving the cycler too! It's just so satisfying to see them pop the shield up just to go wtf after I put a bullet straight down their chest, haha! And I love ambushing people in hallways with it too. It's giving me so much OHK satisfaction that I've actually dropped the shotgun as my main weapon, and I'm branching out. Mostly using the DH pistol in small maps, with cycler and jump pack. Main star card depends on map and game mode, usually explosives or scan pulse, or shield sometimes. On larger maps I usually switch to the A 280 or the E11. Or the EE-3 if it's a really large map. I also still use pulse on large maps, I find it way too hard to get kills with the cycler at more than short range.

;) Yeah, trouble is - PC'S can be too addictive. The graphics and sound is just to immersive to not get lost in there and never get back.

My dinosaur GTX 680 is happy nowadays to do productive work like excel and word or some odd job here and there with Adobe Premiere+Audition. (PC Games? Don't let that monster out - slowly stepping back, crouched & head in a submissive position, with hands where one can see it, never show your disrespectful back)

Haven't thought about it like this, yet - but I guess you're right : for the battle in ME:A it will be helpful to have some buddies to cover your back.
In retrospect, anybody that is disciplined & determined enough, to forgo brilliant graphics, razor sharp interaction, simply to avoid masses of amateurs and as a result have to grind through with a memory leaking outdated console - must be seriously in it for a long run, somehow.
So instead of sifting through a megalithic riverbank, full of non-committal, flavour of the month sand, to discover a gold nugget here and there, console players certainly feels like an ore strike.


Sanitary cleaner, you say. Mmm. Wasn't one of the Galaxies best agents, Agent K in MIB3 also doing some routine and mundane job that wiped his memory to save his beloved Agent O?
For some of us, showing teeth (smiling and killing) is hard wired on the same neurons. Maybe it was simply bait, through pun, to see whether you would make that ultimate sacrifice. A man that's not thick skinned is simply thick.

I got to play with QMR again.  She was putting on a class on how to play BF, but no one wanted to listen or take the example.  Every time I partner spawn I am in the back of the map huddled in a sniper corner with half my team.

 

On the map we just played aside from 1 or 2 stragglers from our team wandering by we capped and held the uplink with 1 on foot and 1 in at AT the entire time it was available.

 

It was bad, but we did our thing.  The Geth and Quarians would have been proud.

Xen said it was fun and totally worth it, despite waking up to a temp ban from making the SP forums cry too much.

Yeah, I really wish they'd fix the partner spawn so it's actually usable on someone except useless snipers sitting in the back of the map, and you don't randomly get kicked from your friend and partnered with some scrub halfway through the game. I get they want to avoid partner spawning death trains by not letting you drop into combat then take advantage of the spawn protection DR, but still, there has to be a better solution.

Mostly good games, though the last two games were pretty much unplayable for me. I dropped halfway through one, and had that stupid alternating yellow/red "connection issues" box virtually the whole time. Was fine when using the chicken walker on Sullust, but I pretty much got reduced to trying to make myself useful sniping at air vehicles with turrets/Ion shot from the back after that. I dunno what the hell my roomie was doing to our connection, probably streaming the Fornax verson of Fleet and Flotilla or something.

Actually did see you get dropped by that sneaky buckethead, but made them pay for it at least. Thanks for the "teammate avenged" points there I guess :P?

don't think Frostbite is very friendly to mods. You'll probably have to wait for a Togruta in DLC.

I don't need to clean them, because they are broken...Also the mice were from winter, they stuck around being arseholes.
