Highlight: Vorcha Sentinel, Reactor Hazard Reapers. Multiple killstreaks without missiles. Run into spawn, flame everything, toss in two cluster nades. Dodge the hell away. Killstreak badge. Never gets old.
Edit: fixed error Volus -> Vorcha.

Highlight: Took my Human Engineer / Falcon out to play for old time's sake and taught the Geth a thing or two, although I realised something was up with my build and discovered I'd knocked my Combat Drone down to 4 ranks. I re-specced and went to town again, even getting to play the hero on a couple of waves.
Anyone who skips Combat Drone is a fool, and I pity them. Unless they never play Geth.
Lowlight: I took my Slayer out to play, for maybe like the 12th time in total. Possibly the first time ever off-host. Got Cerberus. So, um, yeah, he's a bit squishy, particularly off-host, isn't he?!?

Wow, and you can do this as volus sentinel? I never knew this ...
Wow, and you can do this as volus sentinel? I never knew this ...
You can if you have congenital dyslexia, as I do.
...I've fixed the original.

The HE's crowd control abilities are severely underrated, and not just against Geth. With the Drone and Neural Shock, you can pretty much take away fire from half the enemy wave if you want (at least on Gold and below). I think the HE is just so good at killing stuff outright that a lot of people ignore the CC ability though.

Further related highlights in the same day, completed Collector Mastery and Tech Mastery, and moved into the Xbox global top 1000 on CP.
Low point: A very rough Gold on Jade vs Reapers with my KroSent and a good Jugg and an abysmal BatGuard and mediocre ACA, we (mostly) extracted but I burned all ops packs, gel, and missiles to do it.
Highlight: I still had a couple Thermal Clip paclks left ![]()
Highlight: Playing the AJ and still loving it
Low point: Got dropped into Geth London (laggy version)
Highlight: Took my Claymore KroSol out for a UUG run, landed in a lobby with two WarLords and a Shaman. We got London Geth. There was much headbutting and RwaaRHH! Pugs wuz gud, they all did devices and revives &c. Easiest wave 8 I ever saw. Geth got hammered, burned, blasted, and generally rekt. Full extraction in 22min.
Low point: The aformentioned KroSol with Incendiary IV, Power Amp IV, Shotgun Amp III equipped, and my banner showing 50k+ CP, landing in a lobby with a medium decent looking Demolisher. The Demogirl looked at the lobby for a full minute, and then switched the difficulty to Silver ![]()
Low: Dagger Hazard twice in one evening. Yeah, I love being shot at by Phantoms that I can't see.
High:
1/ a couple of pug games with players who had mics, constantly chatting with each other and giving a running commentary. Whenever one of them caught sight of a Phantom, he'd go "argh, ninja chick!" In the second game, we had Reapers, and the Banshees got him similarly animated.
2/ the RNG pixies finally gave me some unlocks that I actually wanted: asari justicar and M-7 Lancer.
High: Day of the many challenge completions - Cerberus (finally finished Nemesis 3) and SMG (finished GPSMG and then Hurricane) Masteries and a whole bunch of the "little" stuff while playing some fun games with various people on my FL.
High: Getting to take out my Asari vanguard, Kroguard w Graal and SI w Kishok after ending up as host. The Kroguard was particularly fun once a Krolord dropped in and we rawrrred out way around a couple of maps.
High: Taking Huntresses out for a spin with a buddy who usually plays Juggy or Kroguard on Silver. Lots of biotic explosions.
Low: still needing a banshee/brute sync kill group because ... dang I get synced way too often.
Low: Trying my Krosol with Graal off-host earlier and having little success. I may just not be wired to play mêlée characters. Or I may just need a little more practice in silver to have a better understanding of WTF works and WTF is a really really bad idea at any level.
High: Om3ga_R3dd's expanding and shrinking volus. Especially the giant volus. Made me laugh even while playing the aforementioned Krosol very badly.
Low: still needing a banshee/brute sync kill group because ... dang I get synced way too often.
The off-host "magnet hands" got me yesterday. When I get too close or fail to check behind me, it's my fault; but when they grab me when I'm running away, it's just irritating.
Highlight: finally attempted a Gold solo with Claymore huntress. Reapers/White, no consumables practice run. Got to wave eight, 39 minutes, which I think ain't too shabby. Oh sure, it ain't too good, but a scrub like me, pretty damn pleased with myself.
Low: devices on waves three and six, costing me three gels and ops packs(each) on latter. Banshee's hug on wave eight was just a final nail in the coffin.
I can almost smell that Lone Wolf banner. Soon now... soon.

Timing and fast decision making. Training this on bronze and silver will only tell the basic mechanics. E.g. I cannot pull off Asari melee build on gold+, but today I had a teammate Huntress picking off lots of Phantoms on Plat with very nicely timed melee attacks. They were flying all over the place. He just didn't do it all the time.
I recommend the Kroguard for melee, the charge can get you out of trouble a lot, a quick barrier purge, too and Krogan rage is such a nice way of having positive feedback when the melee goes well.
I also nominate the flying phantoms as my highlight.
Lowlight was Plat Geth on Thessia - my poor AJA was scorched by Pyros and elbowed by Rocket Troopers, can you believe that?
Highpoint: I went pugging with rustled jimmies last night, thanks in part to Sinful's most excellent trolling. A BotB who I've played with a bit switched to a Krentinel when we got back to the lobby. I did the same. RAAARRR!!!
He needs to L2Krogan though, and stop using a Harrier. I was mindful of Sinful's advice about being a team player though, and I can proudly say that I taught a BotB pug to headbutt while carrying the pizza. It was great - I think he initially only butted me back because I was annoying him, but then the penny dropped. He actually got me with a running backhand at one point, which I've never managed without an enemy in front of me.
Lowpoint: I played the AIU / Reegar and TGI / Harrier in consecutive Gold pugs. I did search for Plat, to salve my own conscience a bit, but there was nothing happening there. I hate the Reegar. I really do. But her melee is awesome.
I have an observation about the Harrier - it seemed to me that using the HVB + Disrupter rounds was almost twice as effective as using the damage barrel and AP rounds, without factoring in tech bursts. Geth Bombers, Hunters and Rocket Troopers were all dead before they could do their sideways hop. I've scored more points with the Harrier than any other AR (as have most of you, probably) but played fewer games with it than most of the others, so it can still be fun using it very occasionally.

Lowlight: a low level PUG juggernaut getting the pizza on wave 6 collectors, and deliberately trying to fail the objective by avoiding the LZ.
Highlight: kiting Praetorians and a scion to him to kill the f*****r, and complete the objective.

Highlight: Haven't used red sand in 6 months
Lowpoint: I kind a miss it in some weird way...
Red sand is for scrubs.
I just mainline ryncol. Directly into my eyeball.
Highlight: carried a noob Jugg on Platinum, started and ended as a duo since apparently no one joined, not an easy task cuz the host went down like a no fitness Drell every few minutes and I wasted a few gels trying to revive him, on wave 11 he got shot down again surrounded by Primes and Banshees, I had no choice but leaving him along due to no missile and ops pack left, so I extracted alone and left the lobby immediately, thank god his host was not too laggy, otherwise we would have failed for sure.
Low points: managed to get sync-killed by Banshees 3 times on a laggy host, just standard 400-500 ms latency but the rubber banding made it even worse, i got grabbed from like 5 meters away, those are dark times indeed
.
Highlight: Challenged by Clyde, I searched for a game on WiiU this morning. Found a decent looking Gold lobby, got Glacier Cerb. The team worked well together up to halfway through wave 11, when all went down the tubes. I still had 2 missiles left though, which I used reaching the LZ and getting Lone Survivor ![]()
