Knowing some German due to attending German school from grade 1-4, is a main reason I picked up English very easy since both languages are very similar. ... Now I just need to visit German relatives one of these days to learn German again.

Haha I know people say they are really similar but I think English has lots in common with lots of different languages because the Brits were invaded again and again... and again... and again and again and again and again and then spread their ways over to us too

I'm also pretty sure they are the only PS3 player I have argued with on mic.

 

I don't know about other European countries, however, here in Finland, it seems pretty much everybody who doesn't pre-date WW2 speaks English (this is an over-simplification). Which makes amusing situations where we have bi-lingual conversations where I speak English, and they speak Finnish, which I'm sure sounds really weird to anybody listening in.

The single funniest non-English pronunciation of an English word that I have every heard (and I've heard people from many countries try to speak it), was here in Finland at a games store talking about Magic The Gathering. "Rare" rarity cards ended up as Rrawr-re, because Finnish has a very pronounced R (almost like Russian, I hear), and no "Silent" letters, so I wasn't sure if I was being growled at, or directed to the better cards

For me, there is probably no better word that sums up the differences between the two languages. As an Australian, the letter R is virtually non-existent to me (even more-so than general English), and is my single biggest problem in pronouncing Finnish.

 

I tried learning German, but I never saw the similarity thing. Sure, most of the underlying grammar was the same, but the actual uses felt more alien than Finnish. I also tried learning French at some point, and they had some very interesting ideas about sentence structure and general grammar that I found enticing.

 

....It's not hard to see how I married a translator who speaks 4 (that I know of) languages So, sorry for the rant guys, languages are cool, it would be boring if everybody only spoke English.

Gaming is pretty expensive... I bought Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic the other day... and ordered Assassin's Creed Rogue (apparently im following every recommendation) and Star Wars The Force Unleashed Sith edition or something (more star wars games yay for me) and then I bought Skyrim before that and the mass effect games before that and then my Playstation even though I bought it used... ive spent quite a bit of money so far im just glad the games arent new and dont cost $60 a piece or id have no money left already haha

I wish I could play Force Unleashed. It taxes both my laptops beyond capacity (One due to junky Intel GPU, other due to junky CPU), and I end up with like 20FPS on a good day. I just love the ragdolling in it though. No need to fight enemies, just throw them into each other, or off edges, or mind-hack them into killing their buddies and then commiting suicide.

You can pick enemies up with a Force Power. Then you can throw them (in a direction of your choosing), say... into that electric force field -zap- or into that big gaping, bottomless pit. The possibilities are endless. Then there is a mind control power later, that makes enemies fight each other (and commit suicide if there are no enemies around).

Or, if you meant the laptop stuff, it means that they are bad, and sucky.

I had a few lovely games with Arktinen and her friend When I was joining the game I could hear her telling him "ive invited a friend of ours. Shes kinda new but knows how to handle herself" and I was like ooohhhh ok I hope that doesnt set him up for having a high expectation of me

 

In the first game I tried out the Alliance Infiltration Unit for the first time... shes very fun one thing that ive noticed is that my awareness of my health and shields just seems to vanish... I have no idea why I was surrounded by Volus though!!! Cute little balls of death everywhere haga I wasnt a big purple death robot... I was a smaller sexy death robot that time who was still purple though because purple is beautiful

I felt to be doing super super super well then realized I was playing with 3 voluses and Arktinen's friend kept getting stuck or something???

 

The second game... I think I swapped to the Asari Adept... I know the random person changed to a Fury because they kept ignoring me... I used warp so they should have used throw and made an explosion but they used dark chanel instead so then I had to use throw so instead of having a good rhythm like me and Arktinen with my snap freeze and her biotic charge which killed geth quickly it was all disjointed because they kept ignoring my tries to make explosions with them so then I tried to stay out of their way haha

That was a fun game though it was funny watching a volus punch things like a Batarian

 

The game after that Arktinen and I were both Batarians... and that was good too I think I had a few connection problems but nothing too bad I had some of the rubberbanding thing though which made it hard to shoot things

 

Arktinen went to bed after that but I had a nice game with my new German friend

High: I was searching for a random game on Silver and ended up in a lobby with G3rmancr3ativeTV. He convinced me to do platinum with his friend and JamesDonni and it went kinda okay, I got lots of credits. 

 

Low: Only the first game went well on Platinum, the second one was utter **** and I cursed at the TV for letting myself getting convinced to playing it yet again. I kept dying over and over again, so I finally rage quit on wave 6 and instead joined Fire on Gold with some pugs which went a lot better. JamesDonni joined us afterwards. A REALLY annoying pug also joined us and he kept making these very weird noises through his headset, a child's voice and then his own voice but no one could make out what they said. I told James to kick him but then I we agreed to let him stay for the giggles. Damn, people can be weird....

After I finished having a sailing trip on Assassin's Creed Rogue I played Mass Effect for a few games... the first one was super weird! Someone playing as a Geth infiltrator had a headset on and they were just kinda ordering people around... he said my name like it didnt mean 14... so something like General Ex Eye Vee... I was using my perfect engineer and kept making explosions and when it got to the objective which was a hacking one he was across the map killing things instead of helping... and then for the extraction wave he just shot everything with his rocket launcher every time...

 

Then I had some games with Carsten my German friend They were super fun but there was someone using a gun called the omni bow??? It was killing everything in one hit and I know it was only bronze but if youre killing everything in one hit and not dying at all you probably shouldnt be playing bronze!! And like the Geth they never helped with objectives at all and it was super annoying... but I unlocked an ultra rare Collector Adept which is nice im gonna try it tomorrow!

Oh and there was something super funny... I got a fire explosion on a phantom and they decided to float away!!! Not using their jet pack things and there were no biotics in the whole game they just floated up to the ceiling and landed back on the floor like 3 seconds later in a pile haha and it was still alive I have no idea what happened but it made me laugh how they just floated to the ceiling like a super quick balloon and dropped like the balloon had burst haha... when it stood up it was kinda on top of a barrier/fence also which was pretty funny...
