I played 4 action-packed games with Mordokai last night, and I'm still kinda reeling from them. The third one contained one of my top 3 greatest derps ever, but it was, overall, a hell of a run of games.
First up on Hydra against Cerberus, everything was going absolutely fine for my HE / Indra. QMR was there too, but then things went south really fast on wave 4. Mordo went down, as did the 4th pug. I was nowhere near Mordo but I tried to save the pug, to no avail, and I ended up using all 6 gels in an attempt to switch to my Cobra, but I was being royally f*cked by Dragoons and Phantoms in a gangbanging the likes of which I've never experienced. I used to like the blue room on Hydra - now I'll be haunted by it forever! QMR lost connection at some point during all this, sadly for the rest of the night. Such a sudden turnaround was just shocking. I don't know when I last wiped on wave 4.
While we were waiting for QMR to come back we ended up playing a Reapers Platinum game on White as a pair of Valkyries with Raiders, accompanied by a ridiculously high ranking Talon and a very effective, if slightly squishy, Fury. The Talon wrecked everything, to the extent that I didn't see him much during the non-objective waves. Mordo sent me a message afterwards saying the game was .... kinda easy, which it really was. As was the next one on Dagger, right up until the last Banshee on wave 9 was down to her very last bar of armour. A couple of minutes earlier, Mordokai revived me in the centre tower, only to feel the loving embrace of a Banshee. I felt totally responsible, obviously, and although I couldn't have got my missile out in time I did avenge his death instantly with extreme prejudice, as the saying goes. Then I RAN AWAY for a bit, did a circuit of the map and whittled the enemies down a Banshee, Hunter and Phantom, using RHA at the back ramp near the LZ. I contemplated using a missile and wish to God I had, but I didn't really feel the need. The Phantom and Hunter were safely dispatched, and I was doing fine with the Banshee too until one of her warp balls got me. I had Uh Cold's voice in my head, telling me 'No Problem. Don't even know, Rippaz, just use an OPS pack.' I did, and went to dodge back towards her, stuck to the scenery for a split second, and then felt that sickening shiver. I can't remember the last time I shouted "NO!!!!" with such volume at the screen. Ah, the stupidity. The humiliation.
We switched down to Gold for the last match, where I was kinda angry and killing stuff faster than I usually do, up until getting grabbed mid-way through wave 7 and right at the start of wave 8. By the time wave 9 started I felt the spirit of QMR running through me and terminated 6 Banshees at point blank range with 4 Cobras. Then I got 2 more including the first target on wave 10, and save my last Cobra for cleaning up, so I got another one.
That game was also memorable for me as it featured more multiple simultaneous Asarigasms than I could count. And while my score was a bit higher in the last game, due to whatever the Asari equivalent of Blood Rage is, I noticed that our scores were only separated by a couple of hundred points in the others, where we were using the same loadouts apart from ammo strength. Warp Ammo IV > Warp Ammo III
TL:DR - Use missiles on wave 9 if you're the last man/woman standing. Seriously.
