The other night... we made fun of the Randomizer for trolling us with Condor Collectors, and then and it coughed up a doozy.

Platinum Geth on Giant Hazard
Bow Raven as the Human Infiltrator with Hornet
RustyBuckets02 as the Human Vanguard with some crappy shotgun (Scimitar?)
N7Lady as the Batarian (?) Vanguard with the Geth Plasma Shotgun
and me as the Turian Ghost Infiltrator with the Javelin and the Revenant for -200% cooldown and 22 second Cloak recharge. Actually I came to my senses and only used the Revenant.

Two off host Vanguards and two Infiltrators with crappy weapons. What could go wrong?

The game started out rough as Plat Geth always does, and I think some of us had the 15 Revives medal before Wave 4. Thanks mostly to the Wave 3 Packages when we couldn't get the first Package away from the open area just outside the LZ. Someone would die, we'd go to revive, pick up the Package by mistake, then die, someone would try to pick up the Package on purpose, die, someone would missile, enemies respawned on top of us, etc.

Wave 6 was Hack I think? At the bottom so not too terrible.

Wave 9 was where it got comically awful. Everyone but me died -- I had to run away from Bow Raven rather than risk reviving him -- so I had to solo out the wave using the Revenant. If you're wondering, Wave 9 Plat Geth features 2 Primes, 2 Banshees, 2 Phantoms, and 2 Rocket Troopers.

It must've been extremely painful for the others to watch me cycle the map kept alive only by StimPacks and luck. With the Banshees pushing me around I couldn't stay still long enough to kill anything with the plink plink of the Revenant. Eventually I wore down the Banshees and tried to turn my attention to the Phantoms, but the Rocket Troopers were pummeling me. Overload took care of them after some panicked running away. Taking down the Primes with the Revenant suuuuuuucked.

It literally took me about 15 minutes to finish that wave.

Wave 10 Devices, but fortunately we got favorable locations.

Extraction, I am not proud to say I abused Cloak to shed aggro and end up as Lone Survivor.

The gods of the randomiser are vengeful, and you earned their wrath when you denied their first sacred command of Geth Rio. I'm not sure why they saw fit to strike me down so much, maybe they got us muddled up?


Seriously though, halfway through I was stupidly wishing I'd taken the avenger and specced into shockwave instead if biotic charge, at least I could have been contributing with some FEs rather than just providing lots of revive medals.

I've been sacrificing as many dice as possible, in the hope I'll get a Turian next time.

High: A game with DaemionMoadrin (both of us arrived as Valkyries without prior arrangement) on Glacier, during which many Cerb units went *boom*.

 

High: The previous game, also vs Cerb, also on Glacier, in which I was already playing Valkyrie, and in which I outscored the Claymore AIU - probably because I had most of waves 8 and 9 to myself

Yes, I should have heeded the Randomizer's wishes. I don't see how Geth Rio could have gone WORSE.

I've been sacrificing as many dice as possible, in the hope I'll get a Turian next time.

I need to do that too, because I think the Randomizer and the RNG store are in cahoots. Yesterday I bought 20 Arsenal Packs without a single UR.

The Randomizer and RNG giveth, and they taketh away; blessed be their names!

I have found the definite answer to how long I need to solo against the Geth with the N7 Paladin.

High: took my krentinel out    trying the no-passive, melee oriented build, so loads of fun and different ways to terminate enemies.

 

Low: the warlord in the gip I landed in did not headbutt back.

 

High: stuck around, warlord left, host switched kit to krogan soldier, we are joined in wave 1 by another warlord. This time, much headbutting took place. Our clan leaders would have been pleased.

 

Low: the soldier seemed to not have specced for grenades... I wouldn't have minded burning some thermal packs to replenish my reserves, thus leaving him all the boxes, so that we could have better razed the battlefield

 

High: fun games!

High: Set a new personal record for grabs in a game, with a total of 29 Geth being hauled over cover and omni-tooled right in the flashlight. If I could only do this reliably, Combat Mastery would go so much faster.

 

Low: My Valkyrie joining a GiP on Condor on wave 2 and discovering about wave 5 that my score was greater than the total of the other 3. (Generally it's going badly if I'm not at the bottom.) We nearly made it but I ran out of gel on wave 10 and was swarmed by Phantoms while carrying the pizza, everyone else bled out and that was that.

Low: My newest account just acquired the last of the 4 geth characters, but still only has one quarian. I also have the AIU. Even in the MP, I can't escape being bludgeoned over the head with irritating robot propaganda.

High: The QFI is all I need anyway.  Already have my Widow and Arc Pistol, just need a Claymoar (Raider is serving as an efficient substitute for now).

Oh, you started a new account too. Cool. But not as cool as the game not giving you more robots then Quarians. I'm just missing the Marksman and FQE. The only robot I have is the Jug I just got. I'm just waiting in my first hosted lobby with the Spitfire 2 Explosive Ammo and Jug right now. Hope I don't scare anyone away...

Hmm, well it seemed liked 2 Phantoms. It's possible that after I kept killing Banshees the game was forced to spawn more Phantoms instead.

Randomizer decided I need to play Ex-Cerberus characters in back-to-back games.

First up, Typhoon Ex-Cerb Adept vs. Reapers on White Hazrad.

I have this guy built with no Lash, just Singularity and Smash. Unfortunately the Typhoon (mine's only at IV) made the cooldown a little too slow to get reliable self detonations. However with Warp Ammo IV on the Typhoon, anything primed was getting mowed down fairly efficiently.

I was joined by an Asari Justicar who never did figure out that Singularity primes for her powers. :-/ And briefly by a Geth Juggernaut who left after one Wave.

High: basically solo' Waves 6 thru 9 after the Justicar bled out quickly each time. Taking down double Banshees was annoying but I prevailed.

Low: had to leave during Wave 10 Devices so will never know if Typhoon Ex-Cerberus Adept is the next Sabre Volus.

Next up, Falcon / BPP Ex-Cerberus Vanguard, vs. Reapers on Vancouver. Again no Lash because Lash is lame.

High: this time I had a full team and Falcon with Incendiary IV made for a lot of stagger and Fire Explosions.

The highlight was on Wave 10 (?) Devices when the enemies kept respawning on top of me while I was trying to do a Device, so I pulled a Techo Turian and missile'd 5 times until things got cleared out. Missile'ing a lone Ravager has never felt so satisfying.

After a discussion I had yesterday I decided to try out melee Saboturian with the Venom. It was surprisingly fun, if a bit taxing on medi-gel and ops packs.

 

Lowlight: Heavy meleeing with a charged Venom kept causing it to go off early. With husks and abominations I'd end up killstealing myself.   

 

Highlight: Didn't get sync killed by any bosses.

 

Highlight: Ended up in a match with two Paladins and a Vorcha Soldier. Much Sabotage tech vulnerability abuse followed.

 

Lowlight: Ended up in a match where some Talon Merc kept swearing every sentence and complaining that his grenades were disappearing.

Low: level 2 gear with human engi. Get dropped into wave 6 plat. I searched for gold!

High: we extract!

I say I have time for one more, I fancy our chances as there is a jugg, a flamer geth with acolyte and a TGI harrier I switch to my try hard arc pistol 3 wielding MQE but:


Low: we lose the TGI, the jugg thinks we smell and keeps wandering off to die

High: leaving me and the other guy to pretty much duo the match. We made a really good team

Superb game, complete with my lowest score in living memory - 73K - you guys didn't leave much to kill!  17 minutes. Against Collectors.  On PS3.  I think we can proudly say we know how to deal with those Praetorians, right?!    

 

I switched to a Krogan afterwards because I like those exceptional themed games to stand out in my memory, and Mexximal had already swapped to a Cabal by the time I'd stopped laughing at the message you sent me.  I hope you got yourself cleaned up.    I didn't have much more joy trying to find enemies to kill though, and there were a few waves where I didn't even get my Rage on.  Hard freezes were a bit of a thing last night, though I probably have to take responsibility for jinxing myself by publicly stating that I hadn't had one in over 100 hours.  Cerberus on Rio, first game of the night - most unexpected.

High:

Me and Mexximal joined Gruntpimphand and Quarian Mustard Rice for some games. Warmed up by kicking cerberus out of some reactor complex.

Then all Quarian bug stomp on Thessia. We renamed ourself the windshield squad, cos the bugs got squished. I think qmr made a mess in their pants sometime during this game.

 

Low:

Quarian mustard rice had to change pants after the last rounds glourious quarian 4way, and therefor we ended up with them hosting again, without a lolps3 reboot.

First I was going to say how you do that under profile, then I seen your sig. So ok, I've just done that, except I don't remember how to hide a link under a word like in your sig or how this site would handle it...

 

And what console do you play mostly on these days? PS3 or the new 360 account? For me it's been all PS3 since my 360 retirement. Once I get a proper WiiU gamepad, I'm going to keep both new accounts going back to back. ... At least I now know you name for PS3, otherwise I never would of known it was you if I ever ran into you in PS3 Land.
