I remember you playing her in a game I was in with you some weeks back, it was on Ghost, and I think I was the QME.

 

I had another go this afternoon, had friends in the lobby this time whom I knew could curry if I made a mess of it.  I played her in true scrub style: cyclonic IV, grenade capacity V, charge everything with gleeful abandon.  I can't claim to have played well at all, but it was certainly a lot of fun.

Lift grenades are so powerful that you literally can throw a couple of them into a spawn and everything except bosses will be dead. No DoT and no worrying about them bouncing elsewhere. Just straight up high damage. She's a great gold character.

This is not an ode, but As-guard spells pure highlighted fun:

My As-gard
* is my first uncommon race & character that the RNG store gave me.

* I died gazillion times with her , at first, without that &!@ pause button, was never the forum type to get opinionated suggestions (stupidly so) , and tried possibly all permutations of powers/loadouts imaginable on her.

* She is not an "OP eezy" (sl omitted) character on gold/plat :

- you can't do the "one arm bandit" repetitive key detonation combinations like other gnade wielders - She has to work very hard to bring a large piece of elephant home (getting 8 medals)
- mindlessly throwing gnades is a bad habit one has to unlearn from silver and lack of unlimited gnades forces one to self prime via elemental ammo for charge detonations. If one could find place to use gnades only to prime, or hit guardians in the back or to shock exit tough situations, she can unfold her other skills also neatly.
- stasis as prime usually ends up overtaken (used) by snipers /anything imaginable,as cheap collateral bait, leaving u in cooldown like a sitting duck on frozen pond with experienced players like AHF. With stasis, the team does well -but she's a shadow back home, unfulfilled.
- she's a phantom , dragoon, hunter, pyro, captain killer per excellence.
- Her frail health requires pre-meditated order of mowing-off a spawn, "gap-less spiral in" towards the bosses. If u don't dodge her, she's a bullet magnet.
- I can curry/and b curried with much less sweat using other characters, but as-gard sweat is more rewarding.

very small subnote - Like the Meleeing-learned silver Juggie , she can (sadly) be played very self-centered also - I played with (against?) an Arc pistol wieding As-Gard yesterday,on glacier, who visited the ammo-boxes so frequently that even the ammo timers were constantly flushed for all players, ... some harrier wielding soldiers were quite p...d uhm ner(f)ed.

As it turned out, no one else ever joined, so we did it as a duo. And because Collector BS, I had no gel from Wave 7

I think the lasers play their animation no matter the state of the Praetorian. I saw this a couple of times. It may be lag-induced, but I'm very cautious when they are around. Bad luck, with enough room the Asari can dodge ANYTHING, but White is not very dodge friendly.

I always confuse them. Glacier seems like a natural follow-up part to White. White isn't as bad as Glacier for the Dodgers. I wonder how good Asari would do in Space Blood Bowl - I bet they'd be among the top teams.

I was just finishing my Phaeston Challenge on White/Silver .

 

of course I took the Geth Infiltrator because that would guarantee me the most weapon kills.

 

We finished and I ended up having way more than double the score of all the others.

We had a Geth/Harrier, etc. in the group so I was a bit astonished, too. 

 

Then someone said    "I suspect that somebody is cheating!"

then everybody left immediately and my lobby was empty.

 

That was a strange feeling, I can tell you.  Of course I was NOT cheating but that's what everybody was sure of

and my name (MoralSupportUnit)  is unusual enough to not be forgotten that easily.  Hope that the player base is 

still big enough so that I won't meet anyone of them again. lol.

You know you have achieved true Asari Vanguard nirvana when you don't even know where you are or who you're fighting, just that you are constantly Biotic Charging and throwing Lift Grenades.

 

The same is true to a lesser extent for other Vanguards but for me, the AsGuard always gets me into the zone more than any other character.

Very true.  I troll pugs with the Turian Soldier/Phaeston all the time, and no-one says a thing.

I wanted the accuracy and fire rate. Also: the proximity mine was not only buffing my damage, best part was that it only left that bit of health I needed to get the "Phaeston-challenge-kills" for the whole group

If you're going for challenge points, you probably picked the right setup.  But if you're going for fun, try the Phaeston on the GE with Incendiary Ammo.  Just shoot stuff until their shields are dropped, then Overload for a fire explosion.  Or use Overload, then shoot them while they dance around on fire.  Either way, you can get a ton of headshots with the GE's accuracy boost, and it's surprisingly effective.  And this is coming from someone who kind of hates the Phaeston most of the time.
