If you're a good shot, the Viper is almost good. Head shots still kill troopers (On Gold), and has a 6 shot clip. A Viper X is pretty similar to a Saber I. I would choose MANY other guns over it, but there are also quite a few worse options (Like most non-UR SMGs and ARs).

Was from a couple days ago but here goes.

High: Gold Collectors Goddess. Wave 10, everyone else down. Out of missiles, out of ops packs. Managed to take down the last two Possessed Praetorians, three Possessed Scions, and a small handful of mooks with my Tempest fat Turian soldier.

Low 1: I was using up low level phasic ammo, so killing the armoured guys took many, many, MANY bullets.
Low 2: The Hurrdurricane fat Turian soldier still outscored my by 40,000 points. Broke 100,000 and made 2nd at least.

"Oops, Sorry!": Detonated a possessed abomb in our Paladin's face because he tried to rush it for a shield bonk.

Low: Lag, lag laaaaaag LAG.

 

High: Finally starting to figure out the vanilla human adept.  (I know people here swear it's one of the most powerful kits, but until recently I couldn't accomplish much with it.)

 

Low: Turned the game off after 10 minutes spent fruitlessly searching for a decent lobby and getting nothing but GIP's, gearless PUGs, and preset maps/factions.

 

High: Saw a hunter ride a rocket.  I've seen videos of this before, but this was the first time seeing it in a live match I was participating in.  On dagger, the hunter was starting to walk along the long hallway while the rocket trooper, following just behind, was still coming up the ramp.  The rocket trooper fired, and because of the trooper's lower elevation the rocket was skimming just above the hallway floor; the hunter stepped on it, and rode it all the way into the control tower.

Seriously, what's wrong with preset lobbies? Atleast on PS3, it's a safety thing. If RNG says haha, it's crashy time, it's Collectors Hazard, and there isn't a thing you can do about it. We ALWAYS preset our lobbies. This way, we can even play Collectors occasionally. Is this a mustard rice self-superiority thing?

From my experience it's very often the worst players who preset their lobbies on PC. They might be planning to camp a certain spot on a certain map or lack the skill to deal with specific enemies. And even if they might do relatively well on their chosen preset scenario, their lack of general competence often leads to miserable clusterf*** games.

 

No, that doesn't mean that you're a bad player if you preset lobbies, just that - from my experience - UUG games tend to better games (i.e. I'm having more fun) on average.

... Fighting Cerberus or Reapers back to back isn't cool either. And you know how pugs love to play only Cerberus or Reapers... if it were just Collectors I wouldn't say a peep.

 

 

One of the best things I like about hosting, besides actually enjoying biotic kits, is selecting my fave maps (Ghost, Goddess, Condor).

I preset the map to Reactor the other night because I didn't want us landing in an unfinished map.And troll reasons.

 

Man,I gotta say for somebody who hates Reactor,you're pretty damn good on it.I nuked my wife once or twice,the other guy countless times(he never caught on),but could never get the timing right with you.   It was lots of fun trying though.

Well, we fight a lot of reapers, but we try not to fight several games in a row against them. Usually we switch between Geth and Reapers after every match until we're sick of screaming, and stunlock, then we go have a beautiful non-hazard Collectors.

 

I love Collectors so much, easily the most fun faction, it's just a shame PS3 doesn't agree with me. If I could, I would probably run Unknown/Collectors/Gold all.day.long.

 

There is only one enemy in this game I hate, and that is those damned space ninjas. I'll take space-crabs over her anyday.

They're the reason why if I'm chancing a pUUG, I always take either an Acolyte or a character with Stasis.  Aside from avoiding Collector freezes, Phantoms are the reason for setting a faction.  Does anyone actually enjoy the late-wave Phantom spam?

I personally prefer preset lobbies.

Playing often with friends and hosting, I always take suggestions and wishes into consideration, instead of becoming a Mugabe.

If anyone wants - or doesn't want - a specific enemy or map (for reason x or y), I can set those.

 

I do understand that people who have already done it all, perhaps several times, want (or need) the extra challenge and twists to make the game more challenging and fun. Starting out a new account with random kits/not much experience with any of them, had me Pugging a lot in UUB and UUS, just to get some games, if I didn't feel like hosting. I couldn't do that on Gold yet, though.

 

And some of us still have a myriad of unfinished challenges, so why not work on those when you have/get a good team - perhaps alternating between maps and/or enemies every match, so it doesn't feel like grinding. So you can still be more prepared and make the game rather enjoyable, than just frustrating.

High: Jumped into a silver game with my level 4 Assdept and rocked the boat. Indeed I rocked it so much, that 2 hosts in a row in the same match couldn´t stand the awesomness and left.

 

High: Afterwards I took my lvl 5 GI into a Reactor Hazard/Cerberus/Gold. I made second place though I joined in w4. Yay.

 

Low: The reward for my opness: No credits and worse no XP. There goes my Lvl12 GI. BiowerPLZ!
