When I was locked up there was this guy in there called Big Crit. I was more concerned about avoiding Flanking damage. It's the one time Caltrops and Spirit Mark would've come in handy.
I learned how to stick up for myself from a movie.
Spoiler
Just spent 25 minutes watching best of Eddie Murphy clips because of this post.
YouTube is a helluva drug.

'Big crit'?? aha ... the numbers on the screen.
I turned those off in Options after about 5 mins (hundreds of hours ago).
I personally find them annoying and pointless, having them flashing up in front of what I'm doing.
You could try switching them off yourself,
you can see what's going on much better
and it's more immersive ![]()

No thanks. Since I paid for this house, couch, television, PS4 and internet service, I think I'll just do whatever I like best. You should know that attempting to sound like you're above others just makes you look like clown shoes.'Big crit'?? aha ... the numbers on the screen.

Guilty on the clown shoes ![]()
I guess not following the stats and indeed the invulnerabilities etc, does make me a 'casual' gamer.
My suggestion was fairly whimsical, as I understand most people like to see the numbers,
and I was careful to say it was my personal view, and you 'could' try it without, not that you 'should'.
Enjoy the crit discussion.

They let you know how hard you are hitting, how else do you know what moves are any good?

I can see the foe's health bar going down faster or slower (or whether my weapon has no effect).
You get a pretty good feeling for ability and weapon strength based on that.
I wasn't kidding about the immersion though, I personally find it much more pleasant
to fight, just me and my sword, bow or axe (etc) without 'the Matrix' going on screen.
Certainly not criticising those who have the default (and I'm sure) the most popular way to display the data.

To each their own right? If we were never meant to turn it off the option wouldn't even be there. Personally, I feel naked or something when I don't see those numbers popping up.

Yep, respect that and I know people like it. Just trying to introduce another perspective.
Some people like the HuD fully functional. I quite like it stripped back.
And I'm sure some people play DAI naked, by law of averages.
It disturbs me a little that they might be with me on multiplayer, but I'll live. ![]()

It had never occured to me, but now I'm going to be disturbed too ![]()

These threads are usually popular. I guess DAMP requires a horse of a different color.

That's crazy to me... Although I don't grind promotions... but still that's a lot of time invested
