I've always played Dragon age like I played Neverwinter Nights or Baldur's Gate. I micromanage every second of the fight.

I'm finding it quite difficult to manage at the moment... My party members that I'm not currently in control of will pump out random abilities without my control - so Solas will pop a barrier when he's a mile away from the enemy, and my inquisitor (a mage) will instantly fireball one of the enemies.

Is there a way to stop this? I can't stand it >.<, I want to be the one controlling all the tactics/strategies.

Um press "p" (dunno the consoles button), got to Tactics and click on the spells and select "disabled" it will put an x by their skills, and they can no longer cast that spell.

Ah ok. "p" doesn't do anything and I can't see a character screen under tactics so my guess is that the tactics menu is not available for me at this point in the game (right at the start after finding Varric and Solas.)

Ah yeah, I think after you close the second rift (your first level up) the screen will open. You can disable their potion use as well if you want that control too.

Yes, you can disable all the skills in the tactics, and the potions too. And of course, the Tac-cam will be very useful for micro-managing.
