Question about weapon mods.

Do magic and attack % affect auto attack only or do they increase ability damage as well?

 

Also I found a staff with a "heal bonus" buff. Does this heal me based on damage i do or litteraly heal me more when i use pots and the like.  The staff is something of the vielstrike I think.

The heal bonus is for when you are healed works for the passive death siphon or if you have any Hok.

My understanding of heal bonus (in this case using 10%) is that a 10% increase is applied to the amount of healing effects. So let's say you have a 10% HOK ring, with a mod of 10% heal bonus. It will be a 10% increase to the 10% HOK, therefore increasing it to 11% HOK. So in other words, it sucks.

 

And seeing as abilities are based off of base damage, it will increase your base attack.

It doesn't suck you just have to stack heal on kill or heal on hit as much as possible. Also the heal bonus applies to any kind of heal including potions and abilities. You can really see how big the difference is if you calculate how much more you're actually healing on each operation with the heal bonus.

If you had 2 10% HOK rings, and had even 20% heal bonus it is going to heal you 22% per kill rather than 20%. If you have 700hp that is an extra 14hp per kill. That is extremely useless considering how hard enemies hit after routine. Hard to justify that over all the other options.
