For those of you who ended up with Lilliana as the Divine who would you have replacing her as spymaster?

You can't really have the Divine working for you as a spymaster and you probably wouldn't want her to be doing the job anyway due to conflict of interests.

Who would you guys put as your new "left hand"?

Varic would be a logical choice since he all ready runs his own spy ring but there could be other candidates out there.

I still say at the end of the game the Inquisition should have disbanded.  That was the whole reason they took the name.  Since the first Inquisition laid down their swords and disbanded when their work was done.  But not you and your Inquisition.  Nope you will continue.

Varric says himself he cares too much for his people to truly be a good spymaster. I'd let Leliana choose her successor.

I think a DLC where the Inquisitor has to do each of the advisors' jobs for a day would be hilarious fun.

Josephine will be so mad when I accidentally start a war with Antiva.

As for replacing leliana? Sandal

Her second in command, eyes and ears agent Charter perhaps. Always headcanoned she takes over once Leliana departs to chill with her waifu the Warden in my canon.

+100000000

There's still a hope that we'll get a chance to disband it ourselves (at least as an option) with some sort of expansion.

As for the question - I think it's a very good one. Me myself would never make Leliana a Divine (her strategy sounds too 'hippy'-style for my liking), but obviously those who had picked her are supposed to have a big problem.

Varric is a bad candidate, imo. He's not reliable, and he knows very little about the Game. Not to mention that he has more interest in rebuilding Kirkwall and writing books. Probably she's going to recommend some of her close friends\agents?

Cole

/thread

*Inquisitor calls Cole into the war room* "Cole, why are all of the agents that are supposed to be out in the field on paid leave to visit their home towns?"

*Cole smiles* "They missed home, so I sent them back. They were so happy."

*Inquisitor groans* "Why did I make you my spymaster again?"

*Cole gets a far off look* "It burns quickly down your throat, but warms you up. The pain diminishes and the world becomes fuzzy. Why not have another?"

*Inquisitor* "Oh, right. My drinking problem."

I think that there will be a DLC replacment for the dvine Viv(mage replacment) Cass(warrior replacment). Leliana(Spymaster sucsesor) Bioware said they wont add companion dlc, means they could replace a companion not add one. Well thats my theory...

I feel like I can put Iron Bull as spy master. He's Ben- Hassrath, knows tactical combat, and he's a spy himself. There's no rule stating you need to know the orlesian Game to be able to succeed, you'll need to command agents, listen to ideas (krem says he listens and will listen to ideas).Bull is actually much smarter than he appears. Harding is too inexperienced for spymaster, she's a great scout. Lol at Cole! He cares too much and will falter at tough choices, and has 0 tactical ability. Zevran is a better agent than leader and commander of a spy ring. Varric is too emotional and a softy.
By process of elimination, Bull appears to be the best in my opinion of all the choices.

I think it's Rector who gets that note from his mother? Poor guy. I'd like to put him in charge of something. But the person who suggested Charter has a good point. Leliana has Charter and Rector seems to send quite a few reports back from what I recall, Cullen has Knight-Captain(?) Rylen and...I think she's a Knight-Lieutenant Briony-something who both have their own commands and seem to do quite well. So there are already competent people 'waiting in the wings,' so-to-speak. I think that Leliana would want to pick her replacement, but, if I understood the arrangement correctly, Cassandra was to pick one for Cullen if it became necessary.

And while initially I thought Varric would've been great (because I was still on the fence about Leliana), I think he's right in saying he'd be a lousy spymaster because of all the hand-holding and the fretting and the feeling bad about bad things that he'd be doing.

Edit: The Iron Bull is an interesting idea. While I don't think it's a bad one, personally I would prefer promoting an established npc over a companion. As well as the fact that the Iron Bull has a few different outcomes for the end of the game and that might be difficult to marry for the sake of consistency.

Like I said, an Iron Bull who's part of the Qun is a deadly spy master. Just a reminder: when Bull becomes Tal-Vashoth, how easy was it for spies to infiltrate our ranks right under Leliana's nose and attempt an assassination. Imagine the resources backed by Qunari and lead by Iron Bull is the best back up spy master in my opinion.

Harding. She's been working with Leli so she must know one or two about spying. So yes, i'd choose her.

I actually thought this as well. Her or Scout Harding.

Though to throw a new name out there, Tallis.

And with that:
