Does anyone here have experience in using the toolset under Windows 8? Are there any issues with running NWN2 or the toolset on the Windows 8 OS?

Yes, I'm using NWN2 in Windows 8.

One issue I've run into with the toolset is that sometimes a change in scale, tinting, armor, or some other modification may not immediately show up in the toolset. Usually it appears only after the second or third change, or else I have to close and re-open the area. It's a little frustrating, and I'm not sure if it is a problem with Windows 8 per se, or some library issue.

The other problem is the known issue with the Nvidia cards and exterior area texturing. Some grid squares create static noise in a grid square that does not have all six texture types laid down. Is that Windows 8 specific? I don't know.

Other than that though, it seems to work okay.

Beyond that, I've learned to dislike Windows 8 with a passion usually reserved for smelly feet, microwaved fish, tailgaters, and loud commercials. But at least it boots quickly. :)

Thanks for the input guys. What about Windows XP x64? Do any of you have experience in using that with NWN2 and the Toolset?

Not me, sorry. NWN2 never worked on my XP computer (too sloooooooooow). As a matter of fact, I played NWN2 only three years ago (and never finished SoZ).

Me neither.  I was no longer using XP by the time I first played NWN2 starting in mid-2011.

I'm using Windows 8.1 and I have all these yellow lines and numbers all over the area, and the terrain buttons are covered with gibberish that sometimes goes away if I pass the cursor over it. And oh yeah: It doesn't show water in the toolset.

Okay I just fixed the water thing switching options/view/graphics/normalmappedterrain to true, but I've still got the gibberish on the terrain buttons.
