I'd choose to save the warden for sure. Of course I highly doubt whoever you left in the fade is dead, considering there's a cut to black and in the little choice explanation when you hover over an option it says "X will LIKELY die". Since there's those two things, and BW's liberal interpretation of death, I'd be shocked if they don't get brought back in DLC.

Hmmm I don't know. I'm not that attached to my RPG characters that I mind them dying.  Probably Hawke because by that point she had lost almost everything (at least her sister is still alive somewhere), blames herself for it and seem to have an "atoner" thing going on. Then again my Warden is a very powerful mage who would probably be able to kill that demon and escape anyway. Hell it didn't seem like a particularly attentive demon, we could probably all escape in the time it takes to argue about it.

Hawke died in my first playthrough  as opposed to Loghain and it was a pretty easy choice.  Hawke or the Hero of Ferelden isn't even a choice- Hawke would go every time. Especially in  the Fade because... well, as he said Corypheus is basically his mess to clean up. And you'd need Loghain, Alistair, Stroud or the HoF to rebuild the Warden order.

I actually liked that choice. As much as I didn't care much for Hawke as a PC in DA2 and I thought he came across as a ****** more often than not when he opened his mouth in Inquisition, the scene with Varric all sad reminiscing about Hawke in Skyhold with the DA2 music playing was nice.

Well... ****.

I love Hawke.

LOVE HAWKE.

But. I love Alistair. Happy Alistair might be better than aggressive sneering blood Mage ranting Hawke?

I think the only HoF I would save over Hawke would be female Cousland, romanced Alistair... (Technically she's queen in my PT so this choice wouldn't make much sense) going up against aggressive no one romanced male Hawke.

My thought isn't even really about Hawke vs HoF. It's about the people they leave behind. The only companion from Origins I take issue with being left alone in Thedas is Alistair. Possibly Morrigan, but I know she would recover- but then that leaves Kieran fatherless... Damn!

But Fenris? The thought of poor broody abused Fenris all alone in the world? And Varric on top of that? Ick. Not a decision I could easily make. I think those two really are my all time favorite companions. And Hawke is definitely my favorite protagonist so.

9 out of 10 times it would be Hawke. I would make a single Keep import where I save female Cousland over mean single Hawke.

I can't imagine how they would actually bring in the HoF. Would they be fully voiced? What kind of voice would they choose?? Can you imagine the outcry if the voice wasn't good enough? Yikes...

This one of those things Bioware needs to do and tell people that are pissed off to deal with it. As for an actual voice, I'd say one of the ones from Origins that the Warden had.

I agree, I don't care what he sounds like as long as he is badass and interesting.

This choice wouldn't even happen if Hawke's Warden homie was the Hero of Fereldan, as with the HoF nothing would stand in her way seeing as how she is seen as some unstoppable killing machine.

Hawke would die every time, even though, I am sure the HOF would rip off one of the demon's legs and beat it to death with its own leg... then enter the black city. He's already too god-like.

There's really a lot of different opinions on the matter. I'm even starting to wonder what it would have been if the inquisitor stayed behind... (And then the HoF takes control of the inquisition and fetch corypheus remains to his dog !! :P )

In such a case, I would leave Hawke behind. *sigh*  Be great if there's an option : Inquisitor exchange looks with HoF and Hawke who agreed with her unspoken question. Inquisitor : It's an honor fighting with the both of you. Charge!" :P

But then Corypheus

Spoiler
Truly the best ending for the HoF.

Honestly I don't see the warden's voice as abig issue. Most of the origins could just use a Ferelden English accent. Dalish would use an accent from the sheep orientated lands of Britain and dwarves would just be yankee doodles.

Yeah I never though anyone would be so invested in the battle bark voice.

I would normally agree. However, in this case the person is being used to distract a being so powerful that even backed by the current PC, the current PC's party, and the other optional sacrifice, the fight would be unwinnable. I'd argue that the demon might possess the helpless bait, except that if memory serves they're physically trapped in the Fade: even if the demon can possess them while they're in the Fade, I'm not sure what it would gain thereby since the sacrifice isn't as powerful as they are and can't get them out of the Fade. I'm not saying it's impossible for Hawke/Loghain/Alistair/Stroud to survive, just that I don't see how it would happen.

I would leave the HoF to fight and I would save Hawke.

1) The HoF is badass. No matter what origin or class. IMO especially so as a maxed out mage, but whatever the case the HoF is in a higher league than Hawke.

2) Hawke is also badass, but this is like comparing Spider-Man to Superman.

Afterthought: My Head-Canon says the HoF (Mage) draws on the Fade until a standstill is created. An unending battle between badass and bad guy... until such time as we get to go back and tip the scales somehow.

Yea, this. If it were up to me, I would have made it, so the player gets to choose both sides of the conversation, the Inquisitor with the wheel and the Warden unvoiced with the old DA:O interface. Sure, it would have been weird, you controlling both sides of the conversation but IMO that would have been awesome (if it is limited to just a few short conversations). It would have caused just as much of an outcry though, I am sure.

Bioware should write a scene where the HoF takes a devastating blow to their throat, then even after being tended too they can't speak any longer. They then continue to be Badass but now with Sign Language... including vulgar gestures for emphasis.

Depends which HoF it was.

My main sword and board Cousland girl? Sorry, Hawke.

However, there were a couple of my HoFs who made choices I did not like (one of them was a genuine arse. Bye, HoF), and one of my Hawkes I was genuinely fond of. In the latter case, I liked that HoF as well (the Arcane Mage I'm currently using as my avatar). That would be difficult... but Hawke would win, I think--mostly because my Inquis would have to make the choice, and they always hate to see a grown dorf cry.

But, geez. Could you imagine the outcry? It was bad enough choosing between Hawke and Alistair.
