As a quick example, and the Gold Krogan Soldierers will acknowledge, once we move down from Platinum to Gold all sorts of options open up. The Graal becomes mighty, shield regen becomes optional, and one can melee shotgun krogan weapon roleplay to one's content.
From what I remember, of course. Haven't played Gold in years lol.
Now, moving from Gold to Platinum, because Phantoms are so prevalent, and so readily dispatched by the Krogan Soldier if built correctly, it is desirable achieve the killing in one pass. With the crappy Krogan passive it presents a dilemma.
On Gold it would be no problem. 3k damage is nothing for the Acolyte, and for any Gold weapon really; plus Phantoms are few. Hence the freedom in build variety the Soldiers would enjoy. But achieving 4k barrier damage, that requires fine tuning, and puts strict constraints on what the Krogan Soldier can and cannot use, and what points he can and cannot spec
Or you could go Claymore and just ham it up. I don't want to be the cause of any more tears shed over that venerable weapon, but it is sh*t on the Krogan compared to a bunch of other options in Platinum. Sorry, fellow krogans
As you describe in the GI video, so you know the advantages the GI will have pertaining to this weapon
