Don't listen to all the nagging, I have played DA:O, DA:2 and DA:I and I enjoyed all of them. I did experience a few bugs, but nothing too dramatic (though I do wonder while playing as a mage, why my tanks keep appearing from behind me  ).

You should play the previous two DA games aswell, though. So you know about the lore (which is truly fascinating) and DA:2 is not that bad honestly  ;)

LOL!

Actually bugs exits on all five platforms, from simple:

1. all three companions jumping on a merchant's table

2. companions that won't follow you into one of the caves in the Storm Coast,

3. Ranged characters that don't stay in range and attack like a melee warrior

4. companions that temporarily disappear from view

5. Well, you get the drift.

As to nVidia driver/GPU issues, the EA Q&A tech support forum has many posts regarding nVidia GPU/driver issues plus a lot more.

And to your'e "I don't speak for everyone".. that's true. My bad. Perhaps I should have added the word "many" to my original post..

They may be 'bugs' but they are so irrelevant (to me) it's not worth calling them that. They have not ruined the game for me or made it unplayable as some claim.

And yes, adding ' many some' would have helped.

To everyone on here complaining of of dull combat and boring missions, go try Destiny. Bosses are just bullet sponges that take 15-20 mins to die, RNG is 100 times more irritating that DA:I and the missions and story are just mere after thoughts. Yes DA:O is better but this is still a good game in my opinion and better than DA 2.

Destiny is an action\shooter game. DA:I is supposed to be an rpg.

Destiny is also an RPG (ish), what I was tryig to do was point out to all the complainerd who feel let down by DA:I that there are worse games out there, but I also think that DA:I is a great game, not as good as DA:O in some ways but is a return to form and hopefully with patches they will fix some minor issues; no loot chest, RNG on loot, lack of tactics and 8 ability slots are the the ones which I think need addressing soon along with bugs.

Because DA:I is not as horrible as game I don't care about, I should not complain about bad quality of game I bought.

The game has exceeded my expectations...excellent work! Absolutely fantastic job with the gamepad integration for the pc :)

I am having zero issues after 8 hours other than I can't stop playing! The optimization is also astounding as my lowly 560 ti runs quite well on high settings.

I have a 670 GTX 3GB and I run all the vid settings at Ultra, Fade Touch and 4xMSAA. I still get the occasional freeze during a cut scene maybe every 7 - 8 hours I'd say. Bad code is the culprit and better video drivers are also needed.

Since I have played many action and real rpg's, baldur's gate series, dungeon siege series, elder scrolls series and skyrim, diablo series, DAO, and DA2, among many others I can't remember, I would say, DA:I is watered down and not the quality as DAO and other RPG's. Its not a bad game, fantastic graphics and long cut scenes if that sort of thing floats your boat, but the excellent plots, story lines, useful side quests, intelligent skill trees and inventory system, chest, campsite, being able to chat with party members, etc, etc, etc, are not present in DA:I for some reason. This has taken away from DA:I and what could of made it a great RPG, truly best game and RPG of 2014 would of been the case then. But as it stands, its a mediocre game with many bugs and very limited to what you can do and very hack and slash.

There was a reason DA:I and the digital deluxe went on sale after release for only $45 CAD for me, because sales were hurting, but why if its the best game of 2014 and best RPG?!

I expect with Patch 3 and beyond, and DLC's, these issues to be addressed and bugs fixed, stabilizing the game, and proper optimization for the PC like they stated from the beginning......

I suppose if I just bought a PS4, never played the Dragon Age games before or real rpg's, then I too would say its a fantastic game because I honestly wouldn't of known any better.

How's this for an idea?

The better the graphics, eye candy, and longer cut scenes means the game is covering up for its short comings. Take away the amazing graphics, eye candy and long cut scenes and what do you have then???

OP, I'm with you. It would have been nice if we could have had just one positive thread amid all the negativity, but never mind.
And don't listen to all those telling you your opinion would be different if you'd played the other Dragon Age games, because they don't speak for all of us - I've played DA:O and DA2 multiple times, played them both again right before DA:I, and this is still my favourite in the series.

I'll tell you people why you like the game:
Hinterlands sucked. Boring. Repetition. Little story.
Everything after that is a large improvement. It's such an improvement that it makes you think you are playing a good game.
This combined with the game being loooong. Any time you willingly play a game for hours upon hours, your brain will begin to convince itself that it's enjoyable. This is called cognitive dissonance- your beliefs change to match your behavior.

That, plus good graphics and soundtrack, is enough to make people think that they are playing a good game.

I liked the Hinterlands, so no.
And throughout my ~100 hours with DA:I, my beliefs didn't change - I thought it was great from the start, and I still do now.

You didn't like it. That's absolutely fine! But you need to realize that we're not a hive-mind. Many of us say we greatly enjoy the game because we actually like it, not because we're trying to justify the wasted hours we've spent on it.

Being my first time stepping into a Dragon Age game or even a Bioware title I'm pleased to say amazing work! Haven't had but minor bugs that didn't affect my session an most the scenery is breathtaking. Combat is simple but enjoyable and I don't feel like I'm button mashing even though it has somewhat limited choices. Quests are not huge to the point that I struggle to finish an even though a few are fetch missions they don't feel entirely boring like some games (ESO). Something about this game strikes me just the right way an I would willingly buy a sequel or DLC based off what I've seen so far. (PS4 Owner)

Yeah, gotta go with what most of the others are saying. Basically if it was the first game in a series, we might think it was pretty good, but knowing how great Bioware used to be, and then seeing what they've slowly devolved into? Well, DAI is just another in a series of disappointments. (I mean, for example, you might think Alien 3 was a "pretty decent" Science Fiction movie, but only if you had not see Alien and Aliens...)

Or the OP might be like others on this forum and find that the OP does not like DAO. In fact in the DA2 forum several players started with DA2 and went to DAO and did not like DAO. Some of the comments were the combat was slow and boring.

I personally like all three games for different reasons, but then I and others like me got accused of being fanboys or fangirls So there is no guarantee that the OP would like DAO or not like DAO.

The OP would have to try DAO and report back. He does know that he liked DAI and was satisfied with that purchase.

But this being the BSN some posters just cannot be happy for OP. But, YMMV.

I'm on my second playthrough, and while I actually have a higher opinion of the writing due to all the ways they manage to work in my race through dialogue, I have to say that I don't think the combat really holds up now that I'm playing Nightmare. The flaws (AI, lack of CC and spatial management in general, clunky dagger hit detection) become magnified, and the best I can say is that the combat is "good enough." I hate to say this, but some major reworking of the combat is still in order if they ever want Dragon Age to be known for good combat.

...That being said, I'm halfway through my second playthrough so I obviously think the game is still great. There are just some very clear ways I think it can improve.

Indeed, looking over some stuff, it's interesting to see how people try to speak for others. One is, after all, only an expert on their own opinion of something, yes?

I started with DAO, took me a bit to get around to the new stuff in DA2, but found that I liked it a lot by the time I was finished. Inquisition, I pre-ordered, and have no regrets. It has some issues, but I was lucky enough to find that none of them took away from the overall experience for me.

All three games in the DA series have their particular issues and idiosyncrasies. I think all three are a lot of fun, and very different from each other.

You sound like someone who claims to be a PC elitist an who claims their opinion is superior to all others. So in your words "Skyrim is a real RPG" which I have put 100's of hours into. I've played the Elder Scrolls series since the Original Xbox released Morrowind GOTY. Though even with that under my belt you claim I fail to know what game is an isn't a real RPG. Well here is what I can tell you....

Dragon Age Inquisition is still an awesome game to me regardless of your opinion on the matter.

Meh, I just hope that for their next game they completely remove party banter because it is annoying as hell. Also romances should go away.
But I would like to see more improved graphics, a bit more streamlined combat and reduced number of party member because managing all of them becomes a pita.

All in all I liked the game

Yeah I find myself going out to locations with just one party member alot. I hate how they hog the potions and never use their abilities at the right time so that they aren't sustaining huge amounts of damage. As for the romance I'm not quite sure why they threw that in there but it doesn't bother me that it's there. The graphics as far as I'm concerned are fine especially considering this is their first go round on the new consoles an stuff like that. Other than that I still enjoy the game alot.

Wonder what it would be like if you could invite friends to your game an let them take control of the party members you select to join you on questing. That would be interesting if it were made possible.

I'm well aware of the fact that you can adjust potion use as well as the abilities an such. Just saying it's much easier to take myself an one other person that uses their abilities better out onto the battlefield. No point in posting something to try an make some kind of point as if I'm a total idiot.
