I noticed mortiel posted a video of us running 4x archer on perilous a few days ago. We started doing it as kind of a joke just to see if we could, but it actually turned out to be one of the fastest ways to beat perilous that I know of and everyone wants that delicious cunning. I got out OBS and decided to try recording one of the runs just to see how fast it was. I dont have the best comp so dont judge, but here is one of our runs.


Give 3-4 archers a try and you might be surprised how well you do and if there is a faster way of doing perilous that doesnt involve AW I would love to hear it.

A full barrier/static cage specced keeper and three well geared Reavers would be scary fast.

Fear + static cage + Deathblow...  Do multiple rings of pain stack?

3archer, 1 keeper is also good if the archers die too quickly. the bonus crit from everyone stacks up quite nicely and makes the skill cooldowns almost non existent. This strategy is also assuming the archers are perilous ready with gear.

I don't know about rings of pain, it might, but I have heard rampage bonus damage affects other reavers.

longshot ring , crit dmg + 20%/ dex + 10 amulet / +200 hp belt. I have 6x cunning /5x willpower.

We ran 3 x Archers and 1 x Keeper which seemed to work much better than 4 x Archers. We were running through perilous averaging about 11 minutes per run. It's a nice change of pace from the standard group setup. I believe any combination of 1 x Keeper and 3 x DPS will work just fine, and we will be testing it out soon.

Depends what time zone you play in and what platform for a chance to encounter the BSN'ers above. Most of them are on PC and the US. The UK'er doesn't run public perilous. Relevant because the game tends to group people on the same time regional area when pugging, to minimize rubberbanding.

If he does, it is probably a recent thing. In the past I also had the impression he doesn't sleep.

Most people here don't pug Perilous, they play with friends.

Well yes, it was more of a rhetorical question. I'm on PS4 anyways at GMT -8

 

Short of using an AW or Keeper, I find pugging Perilous an exercise in futility, and even with the AW, you just end up having to solo large portions anyways

Assuming it takes, on average 10 minutes/perilous run. It takes about 14 runs to go from 1 to 20. We'll assume 100 promotions. That's 233 hours of MP best case scenario.

It took way more than 233 hours. If I were to grind the way most people did and just try and carry with AW i would lose my mind by now. Thats why I try and switch it up and play different stuff.
