I feel like I am gonna out level the game though. I still havent been to the Winter Mansion, Western Front, Emerald Graves, Hissing Wastes, am I leaving any out? Already LV 17. At least I can still get my butt kicked in a random encounter. That's why I loved Origins so much. Like that fight in town, that gives you the Keening Blade? I forget the name of the boss. Dude kills you in 2 seconds if you don't know what your doing.

GAXKANG!!! I <3 Gaxkang. And Xebenk... Xebenc... Xebbie! And Imshael the choice spirit. Those guys are my favourite demons.

I went to Emprise du Lion on my first playthrough at level 12. You can imagine how well that went. I'm normally also a bit of a completionist, but the sheer quantity of sidequests in this game broke me.

It's not the sheer number of side quests, it's the sheer number of daft side quests. Ok, so dealing with rogue Templars and insane apostates? That's fine. Checking out rumours of lyrium smuggling, or finding an inquisition scout, or investigating a cult in the mountains? All good.

Finding sheep. Building cages. Collecting meat. Checking out notes only to find whatever happened resulted in demons flying out of cupboards. Seriously?

Is someone actually denigrating the "Lord Woolsley" quest?! I suppose there's no accounting for taste.

Also, I don't get the complaints about reading notes. Is it just an aversion to reading? Because some of those notes are heart-wrenching.

Also, I admire Thedas's demons for the variety of things they can jump out of: little girls, graves, cupboards, sheep. The sheer variety is mesmerizing.

Where are these crates? I figured there had to be a way to get into the rafters (the jumping and grabbing is pretty stupid and difficult to time properly), but I couldn't find a way up. Does someone have a screenshot or video?

The fight with Imshael was extremely disappointing. He was nowhere near as challenging as the Unbound in the previous two games. Then again, pretty much nothing is a challenge to a KE, so I guess I brought it on myself.

Short of Dragons and the Envy Demon, non of the solo boss fights in Inquisition were super hard. The hardest fights tended to be ones with multiple "lieutenant-class" mobs: the Red Templar Trebuchet gauntlet; the rift in the exalted plains that spawns a Revenant, an Arcane Horror, and two Terror Demons; the double Arcane Horror fight in that one Elven ruin

Part of the problem of course is gear/level scaling. I imagine some boss fights would have been as hard as the Envy Demon if tier 3 crafted gear and specializations weren't so powerful.

That being said, Imshael gets props for having the funniest emotes in any boss fight in any game I have ever played: "Ok now you're just being unreasonable".

When you walk into the kitchen area, there's a table you can jump on to get the Halla statue. Near the opposite end of that table, there are some barrels and crates against the wall. You can jump on those to get to the rafters.

I am level 20 and still haven't done the Palace or the Western Front main mission.   I think its time to stop obsessing about schematics and gear and just start moving forward with the game.  Side Quests are my bane.  I can't stop doing them.

lots of people don't care for side stories and prefer to just jump through the main quests.

Personally, I'm a completionist like you, it's the only way I can truly enjoy a game :)

I hear you.  I never understand people saying that half the game was filler.  If you enjoy the gameplay, and the combat in particular, then all the added exploration is just more chances to enjoy it while also hunting for loot.  Dont' get me wrong...I love the story, but I also find it really relaxing just to unlock the areas and scrounge for loot that makes you better in small increments.

I beat this game in around 160 hours on Xbox One.  First thing I did was pick up a second copy for PS4 so I could do it all over again on Nightmare.  This run will probably be quicker, mainly because I have more of a plan when it comes to crafting, and I also don't have to read all the codex stuff again.  I absolutely LOVE this game.

Same here. I am a completionist also. I'm over 40 hours in and I have yet to progress the main quest past Val Royeaux! I have tons of power points and just trying to decide if I should to the Mage quest line or Templar one while I get side tracked by side quests. Yeah some are pretty mundane but I still enjoy doing them as it forces me to explore the lands. I'll probably sink 200 hours in this game before I'm done with my first playthrough.

I am about 130 hours in.  Think I am gonna do the Palace today.  I can't seem to get this Hissing Wastes Merchant to reset his stock and I am getting uber pissed off.  Oh and to top it off I am also not getting the farmable schematics I want/need either.  Real frustrating.
