:crying:

WHY would anyone want that???

*sigh* I have just learned a harsh, harsh lesson. Everything sounded awesome (other than not realizing what "berserk" meant), so I salvaged my old Dwarven Waraxe thinking this would be my "new best axe".

Goddammit.

Dumb, dumb, dumb. Test drive new stuff before salvaging old stuff. Why am I stupid?!

Rookie mistake.

Huh? What? Joke?

Its the best bow....

Yeah, it's a bow. I don't like Hunter and Archer. I have PTBM as well, other unique bows of all levels as well.

I don't want bows. I want 2h weapons.

Yep, I've been there and done that

At least you can equip your best Sword or Mace in the meantime

until you get a better Axe, and you will.

This is true. I did end up having a pretty decent sword, as I learned while doing the challenge, that I didn't even realize was that decent since I'd always used my slightly-better axe.

Looks like it'll get more use than just 100 kills for the moment.

Rookie mistake.

Completely and totally.

I don't even know WHY I keep wanting to salvage stuff ASAP to try and make new armors... every single time I craft a new one, I end up thinking it looks like trash and keep using my old armors anyway. REALLY wish we could preview what an armor will look like before wasting materials crafting something you don't aesthetically like... we can preview that sort of thing in SP, after all. *sigh*

Shadohz doc has video previews of all the armors. I always take a look before crafting anything these days. Still doesn't make it acceptable that we can't preview them.

Had to spend 30k on chests just to get ONE maul to do the event with. And of course it was a total piece of garbage comparable to starter weapons.

The 2 chests I got this weeekend were the worst commendation ones I had so far. I wonder if we kill the 100 enemies on perilous would increase the odds of a better chest. Thoughts?

I got an epic 30% fire resist belt from the sword mastery.

Nothing special from the maul mastery box.

Was taking too long to rack up kills with a crappy maul my Katari had, so I decided to solo routine mission for kills.

You're lucky, you found this out on these forums pretty quick, for me I just died a lot every game and could not figure out why I was being owned by everything.  Hell the golden nug took me down once.

These forums would have been helpful for me at the start. For whatever reason I assumed that skill rings were applied for all moves. So any 30% duration would give me that on every spell for mages, warriors, etc. I can't even count how many rings I salvaged and cry when I think back to what amazing rings I may have trashed.

Feast v Famine

Katari. I couldn't really get into his party chatter and regular comments of "Ugh, Katari are a Tier Zed class." gave me pause so I never got into combat with him. Thursday, however, I unlocked him. Why? I just finished my first DAO playthrough and I sorta get the Sten vibe from the character; that alone was worth the mats. Just after I started playing during the event, fiddling around with an atrocious Alchemist build, RNG dropped a Whale into my lap. Ok, so I've actually got a maul now. Three matches, a few levels of whipping the ****** out of Routine, and I complete the first challenge. RNG again smiles on me, a lv22 unique GAxe. The gods approved of my Katari choices and rewarded me accordingly.

On to Swords. I've got a lv8 Lego packing all of unspec'd payback strike and every sword drop I've received has been a lv1 common. Decided to give this one a pass. Win some, lose some.

--

Wishlist and a sidenote:

A 1h and/or Staff over lv6 common.

Any accessory. At all. Just one.

These outrageous dreams stand, taunting, just outside of my reach as I lack the one crucial component of their realization: time. Sturm, drang, etc.

I received (finally) a level twenty two handed axe.

And a second superb spirit rune...which can only be used on staffs.... one for two isn't bad. Don't get me wrong, a superb spirit rune is great when your staff has an empty slot, but after that, what good is another one?

I'd hold onto it in case you get another good staff.  If you get two or more spares then just salvage them as you get really good stuff for salvaging runes.
