Can't Unlock Specializations

I've been back to the War Table several times since reaching Skyhold.

The mission to unlock specializations has no advisers listed on the left, the "A" button is shaded, and I cannot interact with the mission in any way. I can only back out, re-select it, and re-read the description. No other options are available.

Has anyone encountered this, and found a workaround?

Hmm, this sounds kind of like what happens when all advisors are busy. I'm assuming that's not the case and the correct advisor is free? Only one of the advisors can do that mission, which one it is depends on your class - Cullen for warrior, Leliana for rogue and Josephine for mage.

I have tried both when advisers are free, and when they are not.

Normally, when an adviser is "busy," there is a screen that that would have the two ineligible advisers listed as "not participating in this mission" and then the eligible adviser would be listed as "busy." That is not the case with me. The advisers do not appear at all, and the mission cannot be interacted with in any way.

Yeah, that's what missions tend to look like when all three are busy - the cards don't show up at all and buttons are greyed out, that's why I asked. But since they are clearly available for you, I'm not sure. I know some people have encountered bugs with advisors getting stuck, but I never have, so I personally can't really offer much help beyond basics. Sorry. I assume restarting and reloading older saves doesn't help either? What platform are you on? Do you have any problems with other missions or is this the only one?

Have you turned you console completely off, if you play on a console or, if on PC set the date and time ahead by 10 years then back to the correct date and time? Sometimes a mission gets stuck and says a very long time to finish but, it uses the system clock so, resetting it on a console or, moving it forward far enough on a computer fixes it and, releases the advisers. DO this with the game running on a computer and, save before but do not save again until you correct the date and time.

Are you level 9 or more?  I think that is a requirement.

On another site, someone suggested completing a story mission and then returning to Skyhold. When I did that, it activated the mission, and I was able to complete it.
