I don't think the mystery of what happened at the conclave should be revealed too much. I think at most there should be a bit that shows your character arriving at the conclave with their group/friend/merc band and them having a conversation about what this conclave thing is about. Basic exposition could happen here, getting to know the situation and setting up some of the PC's history, also giving us some minor characters to miss and possibly mourn afterwards. Then they enter, the doors close, and fade to black. Then the explosion happens, and the next thing we know we're running for our lives in the Fade.

I'll take it. It's much better than what we currently have.

It's intentional. You're supposed to have just blindly stumbled on the ritual - sheer fluke. With the choice being that the Maker led you there or ye know it was fluke (#atheism).

I was thinking about that. I guess the one major issue would be that it ruins the "Divine" spoiler, but at the same time I wouldn't have minded a colder opening. It doesn't have to be a 2 hour+ segment like in Origins, but a chance to at least get acclimated to the situation. We still could have the "fade to black" as the Inquisitor opens the door to reach the Divine's location.

the intro was boring because it had little going for it and you had no backstory

a little child thrown to wolves and go.

the intro was not impressive or expansive

the intro would be deemed unnecessary because it does little since the closing of the breach it literally 3 hours of gameplay away

please tell me how am i supposed to take the breach of the breach seriously when i can speed run the game in less than 34 hours on nightmare and toss aside the intro's build up 3 hours into the game.

Opinions...we've all got 'em.

But you do remember that the "yet to be" Inquisitor FORGOT what happened and had to reclaim his/her memory of the events that transpired at the Conclave in the Fade?  I mean, technically, you're backstory/intro is accessible in the Dragon Age keep.

And you can speed run any game, elaborate backstory or not.  Technically, you can finish Far Cry 4 just by standing and waiting! It's an Easter Egg ending, but still...Technically, you can finish Fallout 3 and Skyrim in a few hours.  So whether or not everything else is a waste is dependent upon if you are enjoying it or not.

But no matter: It doesn't matter what BioWare does, people ALWAYS find something to complain about.

I have to agree that an intro about the conclave would have made the beginning more interesting and led to a far better set up than boom, running, What everybody else is dead?
