ActionForceFollowObject, disable the jump?

Trying to disable the jump that happens when you run too far away from your associate.

 

Reason being is I'm creating pack animals that I don't want teleporting around if they are encumbered.  I want the PC to have to babysit them or risk losing them.

 

Any ideas on how I can get the animal to follow the PC but disallow the unwanted jump effect when you run to far away from the associate?
