You know, the one asking about why devs aren't posting here? I can't seem to find it, I believe it was deleted by a mod. I don't know how to contact a mod, because no reason was given, so I'm asking this here. Though I'll probably now be banned because I dared ask a question.

So Bioware mods are resorting to book burning now?

I would suggest it's been moderated and fair play too.

Sounds like you got your answer to the first question.  The mods are here.  They're watching.  And they're modding when they feel it's appropriate.

You mean silencing those with an opinion?

You know, sending a PM about why my thread was removed would have resulted in this thread never being created. Complete incompetence.

Yep.  That's exactly what they did.  People who have showed opinions?  Silenced.

Or, and bear with me on this, maybe they just silenced people with opinions they don't want on their forum?  You might not like it, but it is their forum and they can delete/mod whatever they want.

So opinions that aren't Bioware worship are silenced here. Good to know. Just so were on the same page.

Please. If that were true, the entire News and Discussion subforum wouldn't exist.

(to ORTesc) You know, it might have less to do with voicing your opinion and more how you go about voicing it.

See your opening comment in your original thread for an example.

You know, the one where you lovingly insulted everybody in a very crude and very disgusting way.

I dunno, maybe someone posted porno or extreme profanity in it? All I know is, the "Attica" routine ain't gonna fly.

I would like the mod who initiated this action to contact me and explain to me why my thread went missing. No lock, no reason. Just gone. Mods don't usually just move threads to the trash can here, do they?

No. There are plenty of threads with people airing grievances, myself included, that are alive and well. The difference is by and large, those posters aren't acting like a giant clownshoe.

And a better analogy is this: I own a bar. Some noisy weirdo drools their way in and starts yelling incoherently at my other patrons, many of whom are here to relax, converse, and enjoy themselves.

I'm within my rights to ask that person to remove themselves from my space. If they don't take the repeated hint, I'm within my rights to have that person removed from my space.

It's important to note that the government is not going to arrest you for being an annoying forum poster. Your liberty is intact.

So lock the thread. Why completely remove it so that it's not visible? And without explanation.

This is a complete overstep of authority.

Yes, mods do routinely delete threads here that they feel aren't appropriate.  If that is a deal breaker for you, then perhaps these forums aren't the right fit.  Voicing your opinion in aggressive ways against the mods probably isn't going to be worth anyone's time.

It's their forums.  They can do whatever they want and it's not an overstep of authority.  Unless you can produce some legal print from the user agreement that indicates that they acted against the terms of service agreement.

And I'm sure all mods here agree with disappearing threads because no reason? I've been a moderator, I know that this is a no no without proper reason.

I don't think you quite understand 'freedom of speech'......

You utilized Godwin's Law in your second post in the thread.

So PM the mods and ask them.  By posting a thread about it, you are demonstrating a different motive than just trying to find out what happened.

Is it not equivalent of book burning? You are destroying information and/or opinion because you don't want others to read it. I can understand locking a thread, even if it did nothing wrong and belongs here, but to completely remove it so that nobody can see it without reason? As I said, I've been a mod, and you need a really good reason to do something like this.

Unless you learned nothing from your previously referenced involuntary forum vacation, I don't really believe you need to ask. You're grandstanding.
