I was playing as a supportive Keeper (barrier\cc) and I've noticed that sometimes I can see the purple 'support XP' text.

Is it for combat assisting or for keeping the barrier on someone who kills stuff?

Healers and supporters are often tend to miss exp, medals, badges and other good stuff just because they don't kill that much.

How does this work in DAI?

All XP and gold is shared on DAMP.

And what about that floating text then? Is it some sort of bonus or something?  And are there even any rewards for the non-DD gameplay?

The floating text is the exp you're accumulating for the group. At the end of the match all exp that the party accumulated is combined and given to each player. Not sure what non-DD is.

Keeper/elementalist gets support xp for when an enemy attacks a player that you barrier. Lego/templar gets it for blocking attacks with shield wall. Classes also get support exp from setting up team combos and doing some status effects.

It doesn't actually increase total xp though, an enemy that awards support xp rewards less damage xp.

I don't believe this
I come in first place regularly with my keeper having only 20 kills but 10 supports.
Chain lightning stunning an enemy allowing a teammate to kill the stunned enemy gives extra experience IME

Not sure what non-DD is.

that's non-Damage Dealing.

@Boatzu thanx for the clarification!

Are you saying that I'm going to get same number of xp per mob both on autoattacking and on doing good stuff? Sounds strange. I thought that the very idea is same with ME3MP assist, to encourage 'smart' play. The more one assists and does good - the more one gets, no?

Also, it's a pity that they don't have any supporter medals. At least none that I can see in the final chart. Reviving and killing things are the only that count.
