I've played as both a Dual-Wielding Rogue and a Mage. I noticed that with my Rogue I was leveling up rather quickly, but as a Mage it takes 2 times the effort to level up. Is it just me, or is this accurate for the classes? 

 

I find this sort of ironic since with my Mage the battles didn't last nearly as long as they did with my Rogue, which could only mean my Mage was more powerful in battle regardless of the level. Would that be the cause or nah?

It was probably due to the enemies' level you were fighting. Did you pay attention to what level the enemies you were fighting were? The lower the level, the less the XP, and you get no XP for enemies that are 4 levels lower than you.
