I don't know why but every time I saw an Orlesian noble, I felt this rage building up inside me for some reason. I killed that one jerk on Vivienne's recruitment quest. Not because he threatened me but because of his friggin hat/mask thing. I mean who dresses like that? The dude looked like a perverted clown. I finally understand why Loghain hated Orlesians. Now I feel bad for chopping him my sword. I wonder if the Orlesians made Fereldens dress like them and that's part of why Loghain and Maric got so pissed at them. I know if I was in their position, I'd go on a murder spree. 

 

So what did you think? I'll admit that it was nice that Bioware didn't forget about all those codex entires and dialogue from DAO that talked about how weird Orlesian fashion was.

Yes the Orlaisian nobles and merchants do love their masks, the other reasons everyone hates them besides that the Orlesian nobles tend to look down on non-Orlesian nobility and everyone else as one step above furniture at best.

I was surprised at how insulted I was when Josephine told my Trevelyan that Orlesians look down on Free Marchers. I thought to myself "If I ever get the chance, I'm gonna **** up their entire country". Which is what I did. I didn't close any of the fade rifts in Orlais. Now their people will suffer for all eternity since I'm the only one that can close them. That and the fact that Celene, Gaspard and Briala are in my pocket and hardened, murderous Lelianna was made the divine. All that because of one ****!ng line at the beginning of the game. Bioware really knows how to make things feel personal.

I personally liked the masks... if not the suits that some of the guys wore. Some of the suits looked like they came out of Dr. Seuss.

 

Well, the specific masks shown I didn't care much for, but I still like the idea of masks as fashion. Not everywhere, but being in one nation was nice.

I'll admit that the masks the soldiers wore were pretty badass.

Well, it was certainly ostentatious, sometimes absurd, sometimes beautiful, sometimes awful (especially the hammerhead shark men's mask hahahahahaha). Of course, since my opinion of Orlesian fashion is aesthetic and one of taste rather than merit, the answer is that I loved it. Loved it! It was so Orlesian.

I personally LOVE Orleasian fashion. Most of all the concept art of it. However, it does get tedious hearing about The Game after a while. I didn't leave disappointed in Orlais though. Expected to feel as much love for the fashion and hate for the people.

I rather like the Empress's dress but other than that my reaction was mostly LOL though I wouldn't really call it bad design. At least when their wearing masks it easy to hide same face with NPC's.

Probably not. Some of the amazing concept art didn't make it into the game. Or translated kind of odd looking. 

Just looking at some of the art for the Inquisitor's types of armor makes me cry because we didn't get anything near as good!

Orlesians are pretty easy to hate.  Everything from their masks and flowery clothing choices to the damn "game".

I don't like the masks, or the poofy dresses or the-...well, I like the masks for the armors. I like it. Their armor isn't that bad either.

I hope so! He looks pretty epic.

It is sickeningly flamboyant and decadent which is kinda what springs to mind when I think of Orlesians.
