I'm writing this, and noticed other people have also decided to do such, to give those players still waiting for their games to arrive/unlock some heads up info. Nothing I write here will be a spoiler, if you here looking for such you'll be extremly disappointed.

This review is for the PC, not the Xbox 360

My overall feeling of the game is good. From the beginning, combat, gameplay, and story telling. Top notch job so far. My impression of certain characters from the FFTL videos and other presentations was fairly spot on, but not near as extreme as I thought they would be.

Anyway, importing your character wasn't difficult. The launcher has a 'help me' button that will take you to the F&Q concerning just what you need to do, and the order you do it. It was pain free and you shouldn't have any troubles with importing the character into the correct files.

That being said, there is a major problem at this point. When you import your characters your suppose to be able to click on them and get an overview of your accomplishments, to better help you determine just which saved game you want to load. This did not happen, every game I clicked on showed nothing to let me know exactly what game I was importing aside from the characters name and his level.

Given I'm a lazy ass, all my Shepards have the Standard name, John Shepard, so this made choosing the correct save file a little tricky. Even more so because you really couldn't determine just which save file you were playing until generally after the opening story and subsequent dialogue. Meaning you will have to quit out of the game each time until you find the correct save. I hope this is an issue Bioware will address post haste.

As far as beginning the game goes, that was my only concern. The dialogue starts immediatly, and it's very well done. As soon as you regain control of your character, you get a chance to experience the game play first hand.

The game play left me discombobulated - This is no fault of the gameplay design, but rather simply not being used to the controls. Coming from ME1 to ME2 I have to save the controls are extremly different. For instance, space bar is now your general all Use button rather then E in ME1. The reasons why are obvious, as Q and E have been remapped to give more control over your squad members. It takes a bit of getting use to, but not terribly much.

All in all, as far as combat goes, I like it. It will take some getting use to if you haven't played games like Gears of War, but it doesn't detract overly much. I was, however, severly disappointed at the AI in one particular instance. A enemy gunned down Jacob (I loled) and then came after me, while circled him around crates that he could not shoot through to actually hit me. This allowed Miranda, out in the open as pretty as you please, to kill the thing with out me firing a single shot. It was extremly disappointing, I only hope that this is the only instance of such tomfoolery on part of the AI.

Mini-games are interesting at first. Primarily memory testing, so it's okay to cringe if you have terrible memories. Bypassing is fairly simple, but Hacking had me pulling my hair out until I figured out the trick to it.

What trick? You use the space bar to select the appropriate nodes. I failed numerous times until I figured it out, but since then I haven't. It's not a terrible mini-game, but it isn't awe inspiring either.

Planet Scanning is... I... it's a pain in the ass. I did not expect Bioware to make getting materials easy, and in comparison to the Mako it is quicker to harvest a world scanning as opposed to climbing all sorts of obstacles to get at 1 or 2 ore deposits, some times anyway. Be prepared to restock on scanning materials often, as I've gone through 30-40 on some worlds.

All in all, it's still a good game. The story telling is great, the combat and game play design is awesome, the mini-games are okay if some what tedious, but it's worthwhile to harvest them for upgrades. If you import a ME1 character into the game you will be extremly happy. Increased funds, increased minerals, increased levels, it really gives you more then a head start on every aspect of this game.

All in all, a solid and very interesting game. They could have made scanning less time consuming, I swear scanning every inch of a planet with a mouse is seriously annoying, but I have no doubts this will be one of those games I'll play many many times.

Ciao!
