For the Shep ME series the default male Shep face is Mark Vanderloo, some Dutch Model...if BW scans someones face for ME4's Protagonist who would you like it to be? As I only tend to play male Protagonist's, I have only really thought about males, but would very much like to see suggestions for both sexes. My choices off the top of my head, for some reason I personally tend to think narrower faces seem to work better in graphics creation than rounder faces do:

Micheal Greyeyes
Tony Leung
Takeshi Kaneshiro
Denzel Washington

I'll go with custom face anyway. But for the sake of having a default face - maybe Guy Pearce or Karl Urban :)

As for female characters - Emily Blunt or Kate Beckinsale

Oh definitely Karl Urban :)... funnily enough I had just been thinking about him, using his Judge Dredd persona as the personality type for my current Shep. Guy Pearce has a good face shape for game graphics.

As for the females, Kate Beckinsale I think would have a very nice face for transference to game graphics, I think the same for Natalie Portman and Kelly Hu...I would be a little nervous about Emily Blunt though, the BW graphics seem to have trouble with wide rounded cheekbones, just something I have noticed in game for scanned faces and custom Sheps, shadows badly.

Yes, I run custom Sheps also :)... is fun making them, also Vanderloo isn't a look that really appeals to me, if the default did appeal to me I think I would jump back and forth between custom and default per game reruns :)

They'd probably go with some relative unknowns if that was the case. They'd hire models rather than famous Hollywood actors, because they'd have to pay more for the actors' likeness.

They'd go the Samara route basically.

Could they use the face of someone that is dead?

If so, then I like to see the face of Cary Grant and Rita Hayworth

If not, Pierce Bronsan and Angelina Jolie

I'd prefer they go the DA route and just make preset faces with their character creator. My next vote would be for self-made faces outside the CC, like FemShep and Hawke times two. And I hope that all marketing just has a badass helmet instead of a face they spent money for (and maybe reversible covers for Fem and Bro). Sheploo drives me nuts, especially because he was always a better quality face than anything the CC could make up.

Why not have an option that allows camera attachments for PCs and Consoles to scan your face and apply it to the main character, I'm not sure if the technology and programming have advanced enough to do this, but it would be pretty cool.

@Webs, the tech's been there for years, after all how many times do you have your face scanned for your work id?  Also I know EA have used it in Madden but you have to upload to EA Online which I never feel comfortable with (too many data protection issues).

As for models, honestly for your character I don't mind because I prefer to put my own character alter ego in just because it aids immersion for me....but...if I had to choose I'm with @themikefest let's plunder the graveyards :D

Rosamund Pike as Liara's half-Hanar half-sister...or any Asari ;) If ever there was an actress born to play an Asari it is her....and she's the only reason to watch either Doom or Wrath of the Titans :) Please don't mention that scene in Gone Girl, saw it at the cinema with an ex and she cracked up when she saw my expression during that scene
