In Dragon Age Origins we had The Pearl in Denerim. In Dragon Age 2 we had The Blooming Rose in Hightown. So where is our whorehouse in Dragon Age Inquisition? I couldn't seem to find it after playing the game for over 200 hours. Did anyone else? Where is the location?

I know everyone hates Dragon Age 2.... but...........

i believe in the same place where all desire demons went.

well perhaps room of the Inquisitor may be considered as fetish club or bdsm dungeon.

Well... sh*t.

Now we know the reason why so many people are disappointed with this game.

No whorehouses and desire demons!!!

I concur, this is a major and very important flaw within the game...

Cutscene bugs? That's okay.

Slow motion combat? That's alright.

Quests not triggering? All good.

Tasteless beige pajamas? Fine.

Bears being harder to beat than main boss? Also fine.

No whorehouse and desire demons!?!?

If I didn't enjoy the "funny" of BW games so much, you twits would def lose me as a customer.

It's gone the way of the PC dodo.

I know that "PC" (as in political correctness) is horribly overused, but I think this really is the case here. One reason why DA:I feels so bland and unengaging is that BW tried to skirt topics that could cause massive PC shitstorms. BW took the path of least resistance, so gone are brothels, gone are desire demons, gone is the violence from previous games, gone are (heaven forbid!) physically attractive female companions, gone is anything that could get it a higher rating than PG-13.

Sigh. I wish we could just get along and offer OPTIONS to everybody, even controversial ones, if it serves to spark interest, debate, discussion. DA:I actually reminds me a little of the Collectors in ME. Remember Mordin's rant, because they were all function, but no culture, no soul?

Edit @the Bigot: Agreed, there are bigger, esp. technical problems. But even with technical perfection, the game can risk losing its soul. The absence of brothels is hardly a world-shaking problem, but it is indicative, IMO, of a worrying trend towards the bland, which is, again IMO, mirrored e.g. in the companions in DA:I that are a far cry from the companions in previous BW games in terms of fascination and emotional engagement.

New suggestion
Allow full bdsm customization options including swing, gloryholes, and 2' rubber dongs

Oh, "PC".... don't even get me started.

Too late.

I 110 percent agree with you.

In fact, the *lack* of PC in BioWare games is what attracted me to them in the first place. Hell, I didn't think much of Origins when I first started playing, but the story and the opportunities to do very politically IN-correct things is what made me interested in Dragon Age. I mean, how brutal is killing Connor in the fade, for instance?

Or basically, doing what any atheist would love to do and p*ssing on the Chantry by poisoning the urn?

Taking a tumble with some trashy dwarven hag?

DA:2; the option of making some hilarious, politically IN-correct comments during times that normally beg sympathy and compassion, talking about boneless women flopping around, etc.

As much as I liked Inquisition (and particularly now that I've gone back and done a DA:2 PT) and have returned to Inquisition now, just to create a character and beat this game one last time before DLC -- it's about as bland as bat sh*t.

Dear BW....

(If you are easily offended, please avert your eyes. DO NOT READ. I repeat, DO NOT READ. I am giving you an *OPTION* I am *NOT* forcing this down your throat.)

Please stop bowing to the PC cry-baby weaklings and bring back the brutality!

Cheers.

Of course!

It's all about the trophy and the billions of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ that gets pumped into the company because they produced something mediocre and PC-compatible.

Are people that boring and sensitive?

THIS!! I am of the same mind on this. There is nothing controversial in this game. I was excited that religion and how it is viewed truth vs perception and how it is remembered etc topics like these would be discussed but they just hinted at it and skirted it completely as well.

In a RPG expect topics like these to be brought up which make me question, inquisition nothing. So many topics but which are side skirted so quickly i was like wtf? where it go.

Oh well do not care anymore since POE is out soon and that will satisfy me. There is a damn good reason why new vegas, torment, mask of betrayer, kotor 2 keep being brought up for good story telling. let me have a proper discussion and exploration of slightly sensitive topics. Sad part is you had topics like these in the franchise but it has all been avoided. I do not care about titillation parts but make me more involved intellectually that is what i want from a RPG. Even proper character class building involves you intellectually, here is simple, no complexity.

Agreed, I used to "pop in" the Denerim establishment to see my favourite dwarven girl at time when I was in town. And to extend in DA2, though my options were limited only to a elven ladies. Which is not bad mind you, I don´t discriminate.

As a leader of the Inquisition I demand one of these fine establishments into my castle! Make it happen Bio!

Oh please...sex workers have become so generic in pc games, there is nothing dark or edgy about it at all, it is just stereotypically latched on to every story or environment in such a way that it has become completely lame and cliché. It takes more guts and integrity of a designer to step away from this overused concept than it takes to include it, considering it features in more or less every action, adventure or rpg game released, I would say it is far less politically correct to not have them than the other way around.

Being a customer at the Pearl in DA:O felt about as exciting as buying bread...did anyone seriously feel "edgy" when they frequented it??

As a matter of fact, while I visited it on my way to completing quests, I never "frequented" it in the Gamlen sense. So I missed the scene shown in the video above -- I kinda regret it, because it is a nice little atmospheric, humorous gem. Which is exactly what DA:I lacks. I don't really follow how "skirting a controversial topic" can be construed as "taking guts and integrity"... (eh, wut?), but eh... to each their own opinion.

I actually quite appreciated the brothel in DA2, if only for the inclusion of the male prostitute who showed quite a bit of personality despite the miniscule amount of lines he got.

Re: non-PC: Anybody still remember that "personal assistance droid" on... Dantooine, I believe it was? The one that had run off because his owner had begun using him for... eh... "personal assistance"? That sidequest was freaking awesome, one of the best I've ever seen. Also because of the numerous options you had to solve it, from the bland "here is your droid, have fun" to the "oh he is still out there somewhere, right behind the cath-hounds."

I don´t see how something that exists in practically every action, adventure and rpg game can be considered controversial...it is just a lazy way for designers to tack something on to their story or environment so it will seem edgy and dark...
