Bioware is not the same Bioware as before. This new Bioware can't even look at Desire Demons anymore without clutching their pearls and chanting Hail Mary's because OH NO BEWBS!! What makes you think they'll give us whorehouses? OH NOES DA CONTROVERSY. OH NOES DA SEXISM.
Just thought of this.... Where is our whorehouses!?!?!?!

Looking at it from a different perspective, though... banging a prostitute in a DA game is kinda pointless. You just lose money.
... and gain an STD. \o/
(That would, actually, be cool. I like little surprises like that -- speaking in game terms only, obviously >.> Make the (difficult) cure a quest. Potentially include further transmissions if you sleep around, get people angry at you for irresponsibly foregoing protection etc...)

I got stuck looking at hilarious Mass Effect comics on DA, perhaps I should play the trilogy again...

DA2's brothel was fun because you'd get trolled so hard by the responses. I thought it was a nice addition. I don't agree with everyone here thinking they'd just go full Witcher on us with the brothels.
I'd think they'd have a quest that takes you there, and then you'd only go back there for the "woah what just happened?" hah..
How many funny quests or areas were there really in DA:I? Felt like it was stuffy and serious, and to its credit, it was a serious time, then again however, the Blight felt more intimidating (seeing the map and how it steadily spreaded was a nice touch, Origins). Humor mostly came from my companions, I had that one quest get a chuckle out of me in Redcliffe (the talking ram).

I think this is a case of PCing it up, but that's an inevitable result of gaming becoming for a wider audience and not just us horny white dudes. I hadn't even noticed the brothels and desire demons were gone, now that you mention it.
What aspect of the brothels in DA:O or DA:2 really satisfied any of the horny, white or dude part?

I think Bioware is taking the chant of light way too seriously. Theirs way too much religion in this game. Theirs no way to escape from it no matter what. You can't even go anywhere without bumping into a chantry sister or mother. Theirs full of them in Skyhold!

If you wanted a little more adult and mature content for DA:I I would say a burlesque house would fit the Orlesian theme...but that's not a brothel so not really relevant...

LOL @ lesbian fashion.
Butchy... and I'm not knocking it or anything, because I'm halfway there myself. I'm just not sexually attracted to the style... but anyway, butch and butchy basically describes a woman with masculine features. Short hair, etc (though not always). You could consider Cassandra "butch" but she isn't a lesbian so... that stereotype went down the drain.
Cassandra in DA2 is actually a good take on a stereotypical sex fantasy (to which I happened to be very sensible to
): the fighting/soldier woman.
In DAI she's more masculine looking, but the romance isn't bad.
Did you guys notice she was slightly limping? I found it a very, very nice touch. It hasn't been done before as far as I know in a video game.

What, so no desire demons with bewbs and yet.... you can see both Cass and Sera's bewbs if you romance them?
(Sera's bewbs.... man I'd suck on them until they were dried up old wine casks) ![]()
As for DA being serious... when I first played Origins, I got the impression it was just a parody of other serious fantasy game franchises because there was so much humour.
This is why I don't get into the lore like a lot of people do... because I don't take it seriously. It's like a skit comedy to me.

Fair call. You have your priorities right. ![]()
The rest of us are like:
Rifts? Meh.
Demons? Meh.
Templar/Mage war? Meh.
Corypheus? Booooooooring.
Now where's the nearest brothel? And while we're at it, where can I get a decent outfit? ![]()

Is the romance with Sera any good?
She's my cookie lover friend in my playthrough but haven't tried (frankly I don't think I will this year, I....don't really like the game as a whole) to roll a female character (not something I do often, only in BG2 and DAO I think).

The Sera romance is awesome!!
It all depends on preferences, though... The Cass romance, for instance, is pretty serious and very passionate. While the Sera romance is more or less "casual fun", though things obviously change as the relationship grows but I don't want to spoil it for you so won't go into details there.
It's kinda sad how the romances in the game are great... pity the combat and the actual point of the game isn't so much. I'm beginning to think BW should just make dating sims. ![]()

What's up with the board settings? I can't quote anybody.
Anyway. @ Honourable Bigot
I get points and items from killing off demons and closing rifts. Bioware never gave us points for patronizing brothels. There's no real reward involved. We can't even romance one of the prostitutes. Therefore, I'm glad Bioware got rid of it for this game.
It's all about the rewards, babe. If they kept the Grey Warden's Rest we could have looked forward to seeing Bella again.

Who was Bella again?
I agree about the rewards thing.
LOOT matters for the roleplay as well.

I have that problem with quoting myself... it's p*ssing me off. I'm sure I'm probably just missing something, though...
I see what you mean. As I said in an earlier post, you just lose money... and maybe dignity, especially if you pick Serendipity in the DA:2 brothel (unless of course, you're into that...) ![]()
But it's more or less a novelty, a bit of fun, etc...

Play as a mage, infusion primers for the reaver class pop up everywhere...
Next PT: go to same places I found infusion primers, as this time around I'm playing as a warrior. Think I can find one!?
Nope.

Bella's the hot redheaded chick at the tavern in Redcliffe (Origins) that pretty much gets sexually abused by the tavern owner (forgot his name).
I always feel the need to be a hero so I give her money to get the f*ck out... is it worth it, though? Nope.

and a great place for quests to be implemented...like in Witcher 1 with the wh*ores/vampires (this one is straight from the books) or the Tavern/slave trafficking place in BG2 (Copper Coronet?) with the hilarious little quest about the cheating husband and the violent wife
