I particularly enjoyed the quest in DA:2 where you're looking for Ninette.

 

Also, which Witcher book? I've read The Last Wish and Blood of Elves.. haven't gotten to the next two, yet.

The short novels one (dk the name in English). Maybe I remember incorrectly but vampires in the Witcher series are supposed to use sex/brothels to cover themselves (cliché), plus there's something I won't spoil between vampires.

 

Geralt will also be close to a vampire later on in the blood of the elves series

As much as I love Bioware games, it does seem like they avoid a lot of topics due to trying to not cause controversy. "Tasteful" sex scenes, less revealing clothes (I'm in favor of revealing clothes for both), change Lelianna's wrath demon seduction scene because it's identity rape. I find it going a bit too far to not offend people. It's ok if that's the route they choose, but it could lead to a less engaging storyline when a lot of the "evil" choices were removed. With that being said, I don't think the pokemon daycare center is being removed because of the PC, more like resources allocation and they don't feel the need to have one in this game.

I think this is a case of PCing it up, but that's an inevitable result of gaming becoming for a wider audience and not just us horny white dudes. I hadn't even noticed the brothels and desire demons were gone, now that you mention it.

 

I strange thing is I hold The Dragon Age series up as example of diversity and choice, the fact that the brothels in DA service everybody, male/female with mutliple options, to remove the brothels is a step backwards for diversity IMO

It seems some guys are too immersed in these games to realize these characters in the brothels are not real people. What 'they' feel about their work doesn't exist.

If Bioware wants to really make it important I suggest they have prostitutes who are companion players or part of the main story. I can imagine an adventure where the next hero has to defend a brothel from villains. And yes, they should include the approval system as well.

I really hope it's down to time/cost constraints as to why it's missing rather some idological claptrap spouted by some right wing conservatives, here's hoping that it'll make an appearance in DLC

I get points and items from killing off demons and closing rifts. Bioware never gave us points for patronizing brothels. There's no real reward involved. We can't even romance one of the prostitutes. Therefore, I'm glad Bioware got rid of it for this game.

Anyway, great feminist thinkers have concluded that having sex with one of your idols (movie stars, musicians,... ) constitutes as rape because, as a fan, you can't possible give 'real' consent. So, as inquisitor, herald of Andraste, destroyer of rifts, master-collector of metals and herbs, you are basically a walking rape-machine. Whorehouses are thus the only places where the inquisitor can have some non-abusive interaction!!

Sometimes attending to such leaves me puzzled about the degree of stupid I've just met tbh. On the one hand those are honoured lectors here and there, with awards and everything... On the other - DA:I is a GOTY, too...
