This thread is still going? Sweet.
Anyway... in regards to Imshael... how is he a desire demon, exactly?
There's nothing desirable about him. Well... save for the fact he offers you virgins. ![]()
As sad is it is, I actually enjoy the romances of this game, as well as the sex appeal of desire demons and prostitutes. And no, I'm not one of those 40 year old virgins that sits at home all day, playing games and taking turns from "beating off" or "flicking the bean" to BioWare romances and fanfictions. Such activities are quite sad and pathetic... I agree with this notion.
Now, the thing that I love about BW games is the idea of creating your own character and giving them a story and personality. This is why I find myself addicted to titles such as DA and ME... and while I enjoy action RPGs, action-adventures and sandboxes I will always love the opportunities that BW can give me in a game.
Having said that, in a setting where you play a "hero" it is only right that this "hero" gets a chance at finding love or... at the very least, getting laid.
As for desire demons and brothels, it's more or less for entertainment value and the idea of having them in fantasy worlds. While they might not give you much in terms of gameplay and interaction, it's more or less a novelty.
I don't see the logic in including desire demons, a demon that has featured consistently throughout the past two games... and suddenly scrap them for any reason whether it be to appease the politically correct, which is kinda silly anyway considering you can judge a box and see Cass and Sera's boobs/Dorian's arse... (or change the appearance of desire demons into something like Imshael... who, when fought, transforms into an ogre looking thing).
