I think the choice is important, without it makes the game feel very superficial

Deeper than nothing.
Deeper than nothing.
Nothing is better than cheesy and lame...

That's what I said about the fetch quests.
Good you agree.
If you dont like them or dont appreciate them, don't use them but their ommission makes it a lesser game imo
Certainly their mere existence have no more effect on my game experience than I choose for them to have...
...but we are talking about the depth that they supposedly add...please elaborate, because I was curious about what deep connection to the story or the world that you experienced in that scene I referred to.
...and no, "choice" is not the all purpose answer to everything,..I could argue for the choice to be able to juggle chicken, but I need to make the case that there is a purpose to this choice...

Romances aren't really different from whorehouses, in the end there's no choice for the poligonal entity, if you want to shag your romance, you will. Yet people think that's important to them and adds "depth".
Surely, you approve of romances?

Your PC and companions have relationships, and these relationships affect the story, whether you pursue romances or not...
Your PC and the merchandise have no relationship, no matter how, when or where you interact with them, nothing changes (except your gold purse).
But again, without the comparisons to anything else that may or may not have depth...enlighten me where this compelling depth comes into existence within the whorehouse-feature.

Sure, companions and relationships add something, but the way you treat your companions when you romance them is just the same as when you go to a whorehouse, because they have no choice.
ya I noticed there was no desire demons this time, kind of disappointing. I have a feeling they were left out to appease the sjw crowd since it would be negatively depicting females or something. Same with brothels, they were not added because they are exploiting women or something, even though there were men there.
I know everyone hates Dragon Age 2.... but...........
I don't.
And I'm glad the brothels are gone. Honestly, they were just a waste of resources.
Even if I look past the iffy ethical issues of soliciting prostitution, they were neither titillating nor particularly amusing. It was just a waste of resources spent better elsewhere.

Question! Thoughts on the da:o desire demons? You're not really trying to tell me that this felt "deep":

We get it. You're a massive bore who is offended by the very idea of human relationships being portrayed in games because surely the only reason people would play them is to substitute reality because we are all lonely shut-ins with no real people to interact with. You were obviously dumped by a dating sim in the past and the trauma still hasn't healed to this day. In that case, fine, think whatever makes you feel better. But stop deciding what people should think is important. It's tacky and makes you seem more miserable than you already do.

Edit: not exactly related to ****** house specifically just a curiosity!
As a model they are a bit generic, but then, so are undead and most of the other monsters. As a concept they fit well into the pantheon of demonic creatures inspired by sins that the developers created, but whether they look like sexy young females with horns or say...hot elven cougars...doesn't really matter to me...

@ papercut_ninja:
In reference to that YouTube segment of whorehouses you posted recently.
Let's just say, depending on how gutter-minded you are... very "deep". ![]()
@ Ashen Nedra:
Don't be fooled. Australia is filled with the morons of moronic. It is purely coincidence that you happen to come across like-minded, slightly reasonable individuals.
People here are effing stupid, I'm supposed to be "proud" of my country and the so-called great people that inhabit it.
Yeah... nah.
I'm ashamed. Too many people here think they're a part of the American "ghetto" gangster crowd, while simultaneously making fun of and expressing deep hatred of the US. Somebody please enlighten me on how this works, exactly?
It is beyond comprehension.
I've took a long vacation away from the Dragon Age series, and it saddens me to see that Bioware has lost their traditions. Dragon age 1 had a Brothel and so did Dragon Age 2... hell they even brought humor into it. Did we get it in Inquisition
?
No not at all.
Rest in peace to the Dragon Age Franchise.
