Too long to copy and paste here. It's worth a read here. Then give your feedback.

A guy thinks Hearthstone should have been game of the year instead of DAI. Stop the freaking presses.

"I did sink 40 hours into it, which should theoretically be more than enough to finish any single player game"

Oh dear. Oh no. At the 40 hour mark I hope to be just getting into the meat of a cRPG. Man with short attention span has short attention.

It just reads like one of the posts on here, just without the breathless hyperbole and sighing.

...so there's that.

Yes, because when I want gaming reviews I go to Forbes. Like when I went to Home and Garden to decide what car to buy. Or when I go to MSNBC when I want real news.

LOl good review, and i agree with him. Im sorry but i do not see DA:I as a GOTY worthy game. Its not even the best rpg of the year , hell its barely even a rpg.

Gotys are fairrly cheap thesedays, just add EA to your speech's and its a done deal, or simply throw some cash at the reviewers.

I know, right? It's how EA bought all those GOTY awards for DA2 and Skyrim got screwed.

Honestly, I'm not even going to bother reading it.  I don't care who wins game of the year.  Inquisition is, in my opinion, a very good game that I've enjoyed immensely even despite playing it extensively since I got it.  That's all I need to know.

I will however pick up the next issue of American Journal of Psychiatry which has an interesting article on what they are calling Dragon Age Derangement Syndrome dealing with the unhealthy hatred some people have for video games that for some reason didnt meet their personal goals.

Psychiatry...weird word.

I played Hearthstone for about 4 hours before I realized that there's no skill involved in it whatsoever. The expansions may have changed that somewhat, but the vanilla game is all about your first hand. Nothing but luck.

You know you failed at making a card game when Yu-Gi-Oh is more strategic (though to be fair, Yu-Gi-Oh is complex as f**k now).

Im not the biggest da I fan and I cringe defending it but this guy is a hearthstone p2winner I cant take anything he says seriously. He isn't a c rpg fan you ca hear that in the way he critiques origins combat which was fun as hell for many of us and he praises hearthstone combat that is 100 percent rng p2w bull ish.

Let's look what he says about DA:O and DA2:

"Past that, though I’ve enjoyed Bioware’s Mass Effect series throughout the years, I’ve never managed to get into Dragon Age, despite playing all three games extensively. I hated the silent protagonist of Origins, and the dice-rolly combat system that felt dated even back then, and was frustratingly paired with a wildly uneven difficulty curve. I liked the more streamlined combat system of DA2, yet it’s hard to be anything other than disappointed with the scope of that game, and I’ve never seen any virtual world that has used copy and paste quite as extensively."

Not the best trump card for the DA:I naysayers and doombringers to hold around, just sayin'.

Spot on. Gotta give Tassi points for being open about his tastes. And that "Crash" thing is a terrific metaphor.

(Yeah, I know it's a simile, but I'm on a crusade to erase that distinction.)

Lol, I  think, people at Forbes really don't like DA:I

Dragon Age: Inquisition' And The Problem With Roleplaying Games

The article starts saying:
" I quite like Dragon Age: Inquisition. Like Origins before it, the game is one you can just sink into for many long hours, following your quest and embarking on various adventures. The combat isn’t as inspiring as a truly turn-based game like Divinity: Original Sin or a true action game like Dark Souls, but it isn’t terrible by any means (issues with tactical camera aside.)"

Crash, while horrible, was nowhere near as bad. It had some great acting in it. There's nothing redeeming in DA:I.

DA:I doesn't deserve any GOTY awards. Far Cry 4 or Shadows of Mordor are much better than DA:I, but they don't deserve any either.

IMO the best games last year were indie games. Divinity: Original Sin and Shadowrun: Dragonfall are my games of the year.

A guy thinks Hearthstone should have been game of the year instead of DAI. Stop the freaking presses.

He never wrote that.

"And I may love my Hearthstone, but I understand that in this age of blockbusters, it’s hard to consider what’s essentially a relatively niche puzzle game as GOTY."

Here's the thing about reviews.    A reviewer garners credibility when their review typically matches that of the reader.   In the future, the reader that shared mutual opinions might trust that reviewer on a game in the future.

What this one tells me is ....   I don't ever have to use Forbes as a review for my games.   In fact, a bad review by them, might just mean its a game I will like, since we seem to largely have opposite opinions about whats good.
